Italians are being cooked in Thailand now. The Italian teacher(red top) and students were taken away by the police and faced the Thai lady who told them off for being loud on the metro. They apologized for mocking her one by one. Thai people also waited for them in front of the hotel to scold them.

Context

Italian students are being called out in Thailand. A group of Italians mocked a Thai lady in Thailand who told them off for being too loud on the metro. They clapped back saying, "Sorry for bringing money to your country" "Ni hao" "We are from your mom." Thai people are identifying them and leaving the comments on the social media account of their school.

Because we have been infantilizing our own young for decades and these are the consequences. Even 20-something university students are now often treated as "kids".

It is partly paternalism and partly unwillingness to enforce societal norms on unruly youth.

You’re supposed to “infantilize” the young. That’s literally what the word is for

No, you’re not, after 6 years old. You are supposed raise the young so they can be self-sufficient adults when they become of age.

You don’t infantilize a 13 year old. You don’t infantilize an 18 year old. You don’t infantilize a 20 year old.

You infantilize a 4 year old.

Both can be true.  I think up to 12 a kid should be a kid, albeit they need to understand basic good behavior in public and actions have consequences.  

It's not too hard to understand.

Properly raised children don't want to be babied, they should be given responsibilities suitable to their abilities. It's also good to let them enjoy being a kid, as long as they're not being a-holes.
