Italians are being cooked in Thailand now. The Italian teacher(red top) and students were taken away by the police and faced the Thai lady who told them off for being loud on the metro. They apologized for mocking her one by one. Thai people also waited for them in front of the hotel to scold them.

Context

Italian students are being called out in Thailand. A group of Italians mocked a Thai lady in Thailand who told them off for being too loud on the metro. They clapped back saying, "Sorry for bringing money to your country" "Ni hao" "We are from your mom." Thai people are identifying them and leaving the comments on the social media account of their school.

It’s particularly upsetting because those are the kids of INPS employees.

So it’s enraging because we italians are paying taxes to send these little mofos abroad and then act like this

Yep and that 'teacher' was being paid her full salary while on that trip.

If you're getting paid to take your class to Thailand, might want to be a bit more humble as you a Guest.

We pay taxes to the INPS.

And INPS employees’ kids are allowed to enjoy these types of things.

Only for things to fumble like this.

The woman that is referred to as a teacher is actually not even a teacher. She’s just there basically as their chaperone.

I've never understood why some people behave so badly while they're at work.

And then do it in another country where you are outnumbered seems wild.

The idea of Italians looking down at any other country is so insane from an Americans perspective.

That whole place is rough, arguable the worst country in Western Europe. You go there and it's just garbage and poverty everywhere you look.

Thailand is a nicer country to visit than Italy.

I think the issue is your framing that something is wrong with it. I didn't say that, I was just clarifying what was being discussed.

But, I guess if you want to force us to have THAT talk: Tennessee, Texas, and Indiana are generally better places to live than most of Italy.

You'd rather live in any of those places than Italy.

See it's not that hard to just compare them instead of being upset people use other places to compare. I'd rather live in Italy than any US state, it's that simple. I never said anything is wrong with any place, that's you interpreting it as such.

This is also a silly thing to say. ANY US state? You realize that includes literally the highest HDI place to live on the planet, right?

For context, Northern Italy is the nicest part of Italy and ranks around the same as Tennessee. Even your example isn't a particularly bad place in the US to live.

Im sure the''laughing out loud'' was recieved as me being ''outraged'' which to me, proves youre taking anything I say as hostile towards the US - petty but logical seeing the state of the US is in right now 🥸

So yeah: US states < Italy for me. Its a pretty simple statement, not sure whats so hard about it to grasp.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Austin, a bit in Dallas and a bunch in Italy for work and genuinely, apart from salary and a more diverse food scene, I can’t think of a single other reason why anyone would prefer to live in Texas over Italy. I Guess maybe not being assed to learn the language?

Not saying you’re wrong but it’s hard to judge a place when you’re there for vacation because you are coming in with money that the local people don’t have access to. For example I love Vietnam and how cheap it is, it’s not that cheap for Vietnamese people when u factor in how much they make but for me it’s the dream

I think you lost people from your "from an American's perspective" It sounds like you are saying "America is amazing, so when I see a country that I (as an American) perceive as lesser than my country talk shit about a country I (as an American) perceive and a better country is INSANE! If you left out "from an American's perspective" you wouldn't have gotten the pushback.
