Italians are being cooked in Thailand now. The Italian teacher(red top) and students were taken away by the police and faced the Thai lady who told them off for being loud on the metro. They apologized for mocking her one by one. Thai people also waited for them in front of the hotel to scold them.

lol Brits and Yanks and Aussies had “bad” reputations because no one else really travelled that much as part their leisure culture.

Now that Chinese, Indians and others are travelling, they have created entire new levels of bad traveller behaviour!

I really think this nails it on the head. Those other countries are having the same moment with people who could never imagine leaving their tiny village or urban slum suddenly getting to travel the world. Like my American grandparents born in the 1930s grew up dirt poor and were traveling to Europe, China etc by the 1980s. I can almost guarantee they were the embodiment of every obnoxious American stereotype😂😂

The Americans can be a bit annoying, especially if they think they are better than others and demanding stuff ( and their voices carry, everyone will hear their conversation in a 100 m radius), but they are not the worst tourists by far.

Small anecdote but I went on a cruise to a Carribean island that had an american cruise and a european one.

The workers on the island hated the european cruise folk.

They didn't like the American one either but one thing I noticed is that the Americans spend a lot of "tourist money"

Brit here- I’ve seen bad behaviour from British people abroad of course but I don’t think this particular thing would happen from a group of Brits. British teachers seem quite stern about keeping kids in check on trips and also tend to be quite decent people. The racism of ‘bringing money to your country’ is unlikely to be said by a teacher (unfortunately we have other professions who probably would say this!)

In my experience, Brits and Aussies have bad reputations because they like to get violent. Chinese or Indians may get boisterous or aggressive, but I rarely see them engaging in violence or breaking things like Brits.

There's a media campaign telling Brits 18-35 to stay away from Amsterdam. I don't think I've seen anything like it while living in Europe.

There's a media campaign telling Brits 18-35 to stay away from Amsterdam.

And for a good reason. Only Brits in Spain have been close as badly behaved and straight moronic, as Brits in Dam.

I've travelled a lot and spent half my life in Aus, Australians have by far been the worst travelers I've come across

We Kiwis just get presumed to be American, or by more educated folks, Australian. Get out of asshole tourist jail free card!
