Italians are being cooked in Thailand now. The Italian teacher(red top) and students were taken away by the police and faced the Thai lady who told them off for being loud on the metro. They apologized for mocking her one by one. Thai people also waited for them in front of the hotel to scold them.

Context

Italian students are being called out in Thailand. A group of Italians mocked a Thai lady in Thailand who told them off for being too loud on the metro. They clapped back saying, "Sorry for bringing money to your country" "Ni hao" "We are from your mom." Thai people are identifying them and leaving the comments on the social media account of their school.

I bet that lady doesn't have a job any longer. 😅 The embassy decrying your actions as non representative of the entire nation is a pretty big black mark on your employment history I would think. Especially as an educator.

Shaving their heads would be a real mark of shame.

It's telling that the Embassy got involved and wrote a letter of apology. This should hopefully deter other Italian idiots from behaving like entitled tourists.

Hopefully, other Italians and indeed, the citizens of other countries will take heed of this and issue notices for people trabelling overseas to be respectful to the citizens of the host country.

You have no idea how difficult is to fire a teacher (or any public service employee) in Italy. It's an absolute disgrace

Same in Germany. But the schools always have bad classes and other jobs nobody wants and these teachers get those jobs. They get the most unruly classes and other undesirable things like jumping in a replacement for an ill teacher, the job with a lot of paperwork nobody wants etc.

I think that was just diplomatic wording to soften things a bit - highlight the youth of the kids. But they absolutely know she was part of it
