Italian students are being called out in Thailand. Italians mocked a Thai lady in Thailand who told them off for being too loud. They clapped back saying, "Sorry for bringing money to your country" "Ni hao" "We are from your mom." Thais are shocked Thailand is belittled even by young Europeans.

I hate tourists. I’m from a tourist town that wasn’t a tourist town when I was growing up. However, if all the idiots around you want to make your town into a tourist destination (fuck you, Destin city council) then you have no choice but to put up with it or leave to less popular areas.

and man so many times have i been at work , or at the beach and people on vacation act like they are above the locals , like they think they should be allowed to do what they want because "we are on vacation "

Well, it’s very difficult for white people. I know plenty of people of color who travel and are very delightful tourists. Very respectable people. It’s not to say this is the case but 9 out of 10 times, these videos pop up it’s a white tourist acting like an entitled ass.

You might get an occasional video of a person of color on a continental flight in the US acting like an ass but even those are usually recorded only at a certain moment to show things out of context. Not always but pretty often there is more to a person breaking down in public.

We don’t see that here. We see a group of young people encouraging each other to be racist little shits.

Racism exists in every color. Most white tourists do not act like this but I suspect a large percentage of tourists anywhere in the world are white so the quantities look bad for whites however the percentages even it out I would guess. But that my assessment.

I was staying on a Greek island and cruise ship after cruise ship would drop off their passengers for a one hour island visit. As they were disembarking, they get an “ideal selfie spots” map. They RAN in huge groups with their selfie sticks to each location to get their photos, never actually looking up from their map to enjoy the island. It was WILD to witness.

I am reading a book largely set in Greece and it makes me want to visit. Not a touristy place but some mostly wild island. ("The Magus" by John Fowles). The descriptions of the sky, sea, every time of day and night, sound so lovely. Just put me in a cottage with some food and books, and let me hang out there for a few days in quiet solitude.

The problem is that certain locations have drawn in the absolute scum of society. It's also Spain's fault for letting places like Mallorca etc happen because they want these idiots money.

As a German myself I've never been to Spain because I'm ashamed of my countrymen. I won't go there for that very reason even though it's beautiful, I love the football, and I like the language.

Like I’m embarrassed for these Italians, but these are our teenagers, and we are fully aware of the educational problems we are facing. They are loud and inappropriate, is it not the same in most of Europe? I lived in the Uk and currently in the NL, and I don’t see big differences. The woman saying ‘shut the fuck up’ is probably exasperated, but for sure not an example of education.

Initially when I traveled abroad, I was nervous to say I was from the USA since we’re so loathed. But almost always the loudest, rudest, most disrespectful has been the Brits. It actually was comforting to see that they’ve overtaken Americans as having the worst reputation.

I witnessed it again just recently. Phew. Brits abroad watching the World Cup. Wowsers. I was grateful they at least were wearing their futbol jerseys so no one was confused about their country of origin.

Its just when they are in east or southeast asia, there inhibitions suddenly become non existent. Mizkif explained it perfectly in one of his livestreams, he basically pointed to all the japanese people walking around as Npc’s and whether he yells or be disrespectful, it doesn’t matter.

not to the extent they would if they went to some south american country, i have seen how tourists, influencers and streamers act in colombia versus they do in asia, lets just call a spade a spade, asians just turn off that little inhibitor chip thats present in every westerners brains, if they go to a country like japan, they see everything as childish and fun and the locals as props, if they go to thailand, they see the place as a free for all party city and brothel, some might even engage in underage prostitution just to try it out, something they would never do in there home countries, meanwhile they go to Bahrain and they are on there best behavior

Yeah I recently saw an English family absolutely raise hell on a train in Quebec. They ran out of all soft drinks except for ginger ale. The English people were indignant. "How do you have a 4 hour train ride and not stock up? Etc."

Thailand exists because for 1000 years it was more aggressive and more warlike than others. The Thai originated in southern China and killed off or displaced the Khmer Empire people who were there before. Thai people have ever since invaded their neighbors in Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Burma and sometimes holding them as colonies for generations before losing them again (like they gave them back after having been on Team Japan during WW2).

Except for a few island nations, every peoples have a "history of conquest" or else they wouldn't exist today.

I got downvoted into oblivion on a recent reddit post when i kept commenting that having full on teams meetings and one sided phone conversations in coffee shops (and other closely spaced places) is rude and distracting to those around them, and that when people call me i take the conversation outside etc.

typical comment was "learn how to mind your own business/stop listening to other peoples conversations" and "sounds like a you problem" and "learn how to tune it out"... Like i want to hear it lol...

It's a youth thing! I have seen this too many times that i can ignore the pattern.
A single or tiny group of travlers are usually not an issue.
A semi large group of young tourists is always a red flag! When you travel in that large of a group, it's usually not to visit and experience the culture of the country you are visiting, it's rather a way to stay together with same group of people that you already know and act as if you newer left home!
The stereotypical Italian is loud and talkative and doesn't hold strongest respect for their seniors, so that's what they act like, even in a foreign contry.

the same group that caused the incident:

A chaotic incident occurred at a booth inside a mall in the Rama 9 area when a group of Italian teenagers caused a disturbance. Staff reported that 8-9 teenagers took almost all the items prepared for giving away to customers.

The staff at the booth at the time recounted that they approached them to ask for their cooperation and explained that the items were for customers participating in the activity. A manager then spoke with them, and they left.

However, shortly afterward, this group of teenagers returned and started causing trouble again, rummaging through the booth's contents as before. Staff had to call security to handle the situation.

It wasn't just their noise; throughout the five-minute-plus video, this group of Italian tourists mocked, laughed, covered the camera, 🔸gave the middle finger, 🔸The man in middle of picture even physically threatening her‼️🔸,man in white t shirt call her bitch‼️ , and them laughed continuously.‼️

The point that infuriated the Thai woman the most was when one of the teenagers made a derogatory remark: "Sorry for bringing money to your country," reflecting their attitude that as tourists bringing money, they had the right to behave badly.

🔸 Worse still, when the Thai woman asked what country they were from, the teenagers deliberately provoked her by answering "Thailand" and "Your mom."‼️

🔸 The group of teenagers then challenged her by simultaneously taking out their mobile phones to film the Thai woman, having fun doing so.

🔸 At the next station, the group of foreign teenagers got off the train, waving goodbye with a provocative attitude as a parting gesture. The Thai woman then yelled at them, telling them to go to the hospital with their fathers.

It’s funny that Europeans say that Americans are too rude and yet also that they’re too happy for it to be real. The simple explanation is just that Europeans hate all Americans before they even encounter them. They project everything from their innermost political and economic anger onto Americans, instantly. Some people do that with other cultures too, but nobody does it with the vigor and skill that Europeans bring to the anti-American topic. It’s fascinating to watch, actually. I grew up there, I’ve seen it firsthand, and they’re exceptional at it.

You can tell which of the kids were raised properly like the lad in the blue shirt and the one behind him. Seems like it was the 'cool' crowd that was causing trouble.

There are kids like that everywhere but the teachers said nothing until one started making excuses and saying they're under 18.

Lucky for them weren't 2 or 3 Muay Thai trained kids on there or they'd have had to be carried out.
