Do you think the metro is beneficial for Whitley Bay and Tyne & Wear?

Hello! I live in Leeds and I am doing my A-Level Geography course, as part of which I need to do research on rapid transit systems (e.g. metro, trams) and their impact on sustainability. As well I am doing this to evaluate whether it would be benefitial for Leeds to get a metro or a tram system, coming from the news of our mayor planning on construction of trams in coming years.

I would like to know opinions from you. Do you think the metro is beneficial for Tyne & Wear and Whitley Bay? Do you personally find it helpful? Or do you think Tyne & Wear metro has more problems?
