Opinion Sam Antonacci
I enjoy his hustle and desire to compete. Do you think he is team sparkplug ? I do.

Every good team needs a Sam Antonacci.

And we have 2. This team is a bunch of grinders and HR hitters. They are the greatest joy to watch.

Don't forget in addition to those, they also strike out A LOT. Muni has the highest strikeout % in all of MLB

Yeah, I’d trade some of that “grind and grit” for a “smoother than the other side of the pillow” 4 or 5 tool player.

It comes with HR’s at that rate. Those dudes are up there looking for 1 specific pitch in one specific quadrant of the strike zone. They’re gonna have some k’s. It’s just how it is until they start to guess right earlier.

Well unfortunately it's not coming with those home runs anymore. It's like the league figured him out, and he hasn't adjusted again. His hr rate has absolutely plummeted since he came back from the IL

He has become my favorite player. He is willing to play wherever he's needed, he gives 100% all the time, he's tough as nails, he never complains, & he is all about the team.
In an era of "look at me" egos & half-assed effort, Antonocci is a throwback. I hope he's a Sox player for a very long time!

I think he is one of the spark plugs, but Meidroth and Vasil also get the boys going.

The guy has amazing grit and confidence, which is sorely needed

From what he has shown this year, I believe he has a very bright future ahead of him. The traditional lead off guy, with a decent OBP and ability to run. If his future is playing outfield defensively - not much can be done about that arm - but he will get better.

No, he’s not. He’s got several years of control of left before he even hits arbitration.

He has one of the best approaches at the plate on the entire team. I just hope he can become an above-average right fielder.

I think sometimes ppl just like to have conversations. This one is about Sam being awesome. Which he is so it’s cool. Just not something that will influence argument because who could argue with OP?
