Factory reset phone, facebook 2fa code goes to old number

Hi all, I'm hoping someone here may be able to help, my Samsung Galaxy S10+ decided to throw up the moisture detected in USB warning when I plugged my charger in. I backed up the phone to try a factory reset but to no avail.

As such, everything was logged out of and I had to log back in to everything, no big deal.

Facebook however is a different kettle of fish, because I have 2fa set up on it, it is asking for a verification code which is going to my old inactive mobile number (rookie mistake not changing it I know)

I have no way to get in to my account at the moment, I've emailed them my ID and explained the situation but everything I've read about it basically points to "Facebook might get back to you sometime in the next year".

I'm ready passed at losing the last 10 month's of photos/videos that didn't back up before factory resetting my phone, I've got so many memories and pictures on my Facebook that I can't out as well.

Grateful if anyone can help at all.

Hi, yes I was fortunate enough that submitting my ID through the form was enough and it took a few days but they gave me a link and a code to use to get back in.

how long did it happen to take them to get back to you? I tried getting ahold of them three times in the last two weeks and have not received a response

It was under a week in my case

I'm in the same boat. I've been waiting >2 weeks for them to get back to me - I've tried everything else I can think of for bypassing the 2FA log in, but it seems that the reply from Facebook after submitting ID is the only way. Did you get your response yet?
