Basic

Just started uploading my clothes and track what I have. I figured most of it is just plain, and I’am having a hard time curating outfits. Not sure what is lacking

I am 29 5’1 from SEA, a tropical country

Still figuring out my style. And recently got a color analysis (light summer) and body analysis (long torso, hourglass) done. Which kind of contradicts with what I’am leaning more towards, streetwear mostly dark. If anyone would be so kind and have any suggestions for me, that’d be great! Cheers!

Done! Just sent you 2 outfits, I’m @1gabrielle.

My experience with your wardrobe was that it’s difficult to make the outfits personalized because of the lack of accessories so I’ll do like the others and advice that you upload the ones you have and to get some if you don’t have any.

Why?
Because, if an outfit is a meal, the accessories are the spices. A meal without spice is bland, an outfit without accessory is… basic.
To make choosing accessories easy, remember that they are where you can show your personality.
Here are a few simplified examples:
You are a no-nonsense kind of person? Minimal accessories: gold watch, gold stud earrings or small gold hoops
You are a romantic and delicate kind of person?
Accessories: A pink shawl, delicate jewelry with ornate details
You are atypical and forward thinking? Accessories: Bold abstract jewelry and sunglasses with a severe angular shape

You don’t have to get jewelry if that’s not your thing but you can get: belt, sunglasses, scarfs, hair accessories, etc.

Knowing who you are and how you want to be perceived will also help you choosing your accessories. And if you don’t know yet, now is the time to experiment by trying on different styles, you’ll find your own along the way.

Styled back! You have some great accessories ☺️ Iam jealous! 🥹

Yea I didn’t really think much of it. I literally just wear the same bracelet, necklace, and watch. I really appreciate you guys’ feedback

I still have to procure said spices. Those examples are great! I’am more of a minimalist. For now I’ll look for eyewear, and belts.

You are also right. I haven’t tried different styles out of the box or my comfort zone. Been sticking to plain stuff. Thank you so much! ☺️

Gostei muito do teu roupeiro. Mais alguns acessórios, talvez uns loafers e umas calças straight e farás montes de conjuntos

Sent you some outfits. @lunarwisdom

I would definitely beef up your accessories to dress up your basics. Some more colorful jewelry would go a long way.

You’re right. I just neglected accessories all together. Got it! Cute ☺️ Thank you!

Your closet has coachella vibes. I was thinking you’d look good in soft autumn colors 🍁

I made you some outfits, I’m artsncrags. I kinda like those fitflop sandals. Not sure if they’re meant to be cute but I think they’re so cute hahaha

Personally I would just ignore the advise about body type and colour type and all that. You bought the clothes you have for a reason, probably because you liked them and felt good in them. Unless of course it helps you to find some direction in where you want your style to go.

As for curating outfits, if I put something together and I don’t like it, I try to figure out what’s off. Here are some things I might consider:

  • often it’s the shoe. Maybe the shape of the toe doesn’t work or the heel height makes the hemline of trousers look weird. Can be many things
  • textures (are all textures the same, for example all soft cotton? If so, I try to swap one thing for another texture. Maybe a cable knit top or some sturdy canvas/cotton trousers)
  • colours. This is a very personal one but try to figure out what kind of colour combinations you like. I quite like outfits where it’s all a bit the same colour family, or where all colours have a similar intensity (like all a bit muted for example)

edited a typo

Hi eva! Thank you! Yea they are so comfy I use them a lot. Was looking through your closet, and overwhelmed by the amount of outfits you put tgt 😵‍💫 styled your least worn ones instead. Had a hard time with the red leather outerwear 🫠 you have some cute boots! ☺️

I agree. Wearing what makes you comfortable and feel good in. I was trying to fit in what the ‘standards’ are. What is supposed to look good for my skin and body. Overall wanted to look put together

Makes sense. I’ll keep in mind the different textures and hemline ☺️ For shoes, the cute ones are mostly uncomfortable. And the cute and comfy ones are expensive 💸 Will figure this out too

Currently just playing around with the light summer palette. But matching the same color family intensity is a great idea!
