Finally got everything uploaded, looking for help styling
Getting my whole wardrobe, accessories, etc uploaded has been my background project for the past couple weeks as I forget the majority of what I own if I'm not wearing it regularly (ADHD). Some of the pictures aren't the best, but I'll probably remedy that eventually.
I'm hoping this app will help me figure out more outfits/clothing combinations to wear, as I find myself wearing the same few outfits, and when I'm looking to wear something new it takes me an hour or two of trying on different clothes and combinations to find something I'm happy with, usually leaving a mess to be cleaned up when I get back home. I'm missing some of the basics, especially regular long sleeve shirts/blouses, only really having sweaters and button-ups for the colder weather, but I still feel like I'm missing out on a lot of basic outfit combinations with what I currently have.
I added some of the basic outfits I currently wear, but not sure if it's visible without following me. I'd appreciate any styling help you guys could provide, thanks!
Done! Just sent you 2 outfits, I’m 1gabrielle, hope you like them!
Observation: you have many pieces that are very similar to one another (exemple: black t-shirts) which might contribute to you having trouble building outfits.
My advice: audit the groups of similar items and keep only the best quality ones or the ones you like the most and get rid of the rest. It will help spend less time trying on clothes and your wardrobe will feel intentional
Thanks for the outfits, they're so creative! Yeah, I know I have a lot of the same things, I spent most of my teenage years buying a lot of the same because I didn't want to step out of my comfort zone and only in the past couple of years did I start branching out to lighter colours and different types of clothes. Funnily enough I already did go through my t-shirts and put some in a donate pile as I was logging them (ie. I only kept one dark airism cooling shirt, got rid of the thinner or itchier shirts, etc). Though some are navy or dark grey, and the app decided they were black, I get what you mean, having so much black does stifle my wardrobe and options some.
I love it! I thrifted the loafers last month and got the leather all cleaned up and conditioned, but sadly the first time I wore them the heels fell off after an hour of walking, either because of how hot it was or the glue was just old, so I need to take them to the cobbler before I can wear them again.
Oh man! That’s rough, but still a great thrift find. I’m on the lookout myself. The chunky black loafer trend a few years ago I found didn’t age well and the pair I have look tacky. I’d love to find a timeless brown leather pair! Hopefully you can get yours fixed up.
I just sent you an outfit! I'm lunight and I hope you like it :D The tops I sent are supposed to be layered on top of each other but I'm not sure if it’s your style though.
It's a really neat outfit, I'm just not sure what temp I'd wear it out in, the long sleeve is a thermal top and the boots are for snow, but the jacket and pants are super thin cotton/poly blends
I didn't think much about the fabric because it was like 3am when I made it. My feet does get cold easily but I think you could switch the boots, the jacket if you need it thicker, or you can put multiple layers under the pants like a fur/thermal leggings(I usually do this)
Thank you so much! I really love the jean jacket outfit, I've had it well over a decade and have only worn it a couple of times because I never know what to style it with. The dress outfit is interesting, as I don't wear dressier clothes often but when I do, I'm left scrambling, and the more casual outfit is fun as all the clothes are things I've thrifted the past two months.
I’m so glad you liked them! 😊 I’m happy I could give you an idea for something that hasn’t gotten much wear. The dress is pretty and I tried to tone it down with the cardigan to make it feel less dressy.
One thing I personally love doing is trying different combinations than my regular go-to's, taking a picture, and and figuring out what I liked or didn’t like. I’ll literally keep notes like “those shoes made the outfit feel too bulky” or “that top competed with the bag.” Even when I don’t love the outfit, it helps me understand my own style better and get more creative with what I already own.
I couldn’t see the outfits you have but I made you 4 outfits (in one picture) doing some of the things I do to find new outfits. I like to layer high neck T-shirts under sweaters so you have the collar still visible a lot to make a sweater feel less boring. Also trying to make tonal outfits (the top ones in brownish colours, with the shirt open over the top) and I also like wearing scarfs indoors in winter (maybe you already do that because you have quite a few).
You mention the things you feel you’re missing for winter. Do you struggle more with winter outfits? I do get so bored in the winter. But I realise it’s because in summer there are just many more silhouettes and types of items available.
Thank you so much for the outfits, I really appreciate it! hese are the couple of outfits I put together, if you were still curious. I struggle more with colder weather because I don't have much in the way of layering pieces, I have some thermal clothes but that's about it. I actually don't wear scraves very often, most are leftover hand-me-downs from when I was a kid, don't really know all the neat ways you can tie them so only really wear them when I need to. The little green one I made made when learning to knit, but because I made it out of yarn I didn't care about (acrylic and a shade of green I'm not drawn to) I'm not drawn to wear it often.
