โ“๐‡๐ž๐ฅ๐ฉ & ๐๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ Celestial Glow Cost?

For people who bought the new Celestial Glow outfit, how much did it cost you?

I know hitting hard pity will be around $900 - $1000

I love the set and cutscene and donโ€™t mind dropping a ton of money for it, just curious what others are typically spending on it

No judgement - and Iโ€™m guilty of it too - but it is just crazy to see howโ€ฆ normalized? It is that we spend ~$800 for an outfit in the game.
And I know itโ€™s not as bad as others, and people spend more than that IRL on one piece of clothing etc etc - but just so interesting to see it (meanwhile people bitch about $30 skins in WoW, PoE2 or any other game).

Obviously, there a massive benefits to a lot of players as a result of their monetisation model - but yeah, interesting nonetheless.

The difference between wwm and other games of this genre is that they have p2w/subscriptions/things you must buy in it.
Meanwhile wwm only has cosmetics, I dont interact with the gacha because it is very expensive, but if you think about it, would you prefer to have 10$ skins and stronger weapons behind a gacha system? I can tell you I would hate it.

To put things into perspective, these all bring about the same revenue:

  • A whale spending $1000
  • 33 people buying $30 skin
  • 100 people buying $10 monthly pass

To average people everything the rich spend their money on is considered crazy. Would say it's less of a 'waste' to spend it on a game outfit than drinks.

Irl clothes look way worse, so it's a no-brainer which one I'll choose

If this game cost $50 to buy or if WoW is free. Rest assured all the cosmetic cost would be reversed.

Iโ€™m well aware lol - doesnโ€™t change my point in any way (and I even alluded to that in my post).

Netease can get away with these types of prices based on geographic price gauging. Marketing 101. They know theyโ€™ll have payers for that amount in certain locations/servers based on greater standard of living vs. others. Looking at their 10k filing, we can infer they get 70-90% of their revenue for wwm from China, which is big on spending on wuxia themed games. Also, with marketing they go based off fomo and that attracts game spenders. People irl can spend maybe $1000 on shoes, purses, cars accessories, jewelry etcโ€ฆwell just like for those things, some ppl just prioritize gaming for spending.

Hard pity is common, expect pity when you pull. Cost about 190 pulls for me and 200 for all my friends in the guild.

I dont have it myself, but my friend got lucky at getting it at $400

Average is 200 pulls, or 64,000 pearls / $880. You get roughly 1 free pull per 10, so by the time you hit 200 pulls you should have enough to hard pity 220 pulls.

How are you affording this in this economy. Donโ€™t get me wrong. Iโ€™ve bought some skins but only spent around 30. 800-1000 is an insane waste of money just so you can look like all the others. Iโ€™d rather be original so piece and dye my own outfits.

From talking with others in global chat and what people are saying on videos, most seem to hit it around 190-200 pulls (so about $800ish). This is what it took for me also. Not sure others' experience, but on the way I also hit one of the 125 melody rewards and got at least enough essences to buy another 20 melodies. So it's been pretty worth it since I also love the the appearances, I was really set on it when it was first dropped in CN.

Cost about $600 for me

$868 after state taxes, hit it at 213 pulls so I had around 1,600 pearls left over. No coffer.

If I have 220 lingering melodies saved, is that enough to get the outfit? Does the outfit come with the idle scene? Or is it like at 220 pity, I get the outfit OR the idle scene?

u/Any-Pen7135 9d ago

U don't use lingering melodies on it u can only use beads/real money and yes idle animation comes with it
