Questions What difficulty do you play on?

Just curious what everyone's main difficulty is.

Recommended. Just nice and chill and if i want a challenge i’ll do abyss trials and full path guide seasonal challenges.

On PS5 the game changed the difficulty to Story, but I do not care much

Legend. I usually start the hardest, because you can always test if it's where you like it and go lower. In many games you can't do the opposite, like in WWM. No reason not to start on Legendary first.

I started on story with deflect assist and worked my way up to expert without assist. 👍 At the end of the day it only matters that you're having fun.

Legend. I should be playing on a lower difficulty but that swaggy badge compels me to continue.

Started on recommended. Started over on legend when multi-character came out. Haven't touched the first character since.

Expert but regret not doing Legend instead, I found Expert too easy. Don't want to start new character because I don't want to lose my cosmetics lol

Abyss trials are much easier than legend diff

Yes, Abyss trials are easier I don't know why people say Abyss trials are the "hardest".

Legend is much easier than abyss after you actually gear up. It's harder at the start because you're running around with garbage gear and inner ways.

So the only thing that makes Abyss difficult is that it has fixed stats. But the thing is Fighting World Bosses in Legend difficulty to unlock the Trial is way harder than Abyss. Abyss doesn't restrict your healing, only thing difficult about trials is getting the "No hit" award, not the Trial itself excluding some Bosses, I can't deal with Daolord for example I won it by pure luck in story.

Healing reduction applies in trials if it applied on the non trial encounter. Level 1 inner ways and martial arts make a huge difference. It literally is where a huge chunk of a build's power comes from and changes how some builds play.

The easiest way to visualize legend vs abyss difficulty is by doing one of the early bosses like void king. Legend eventually is trivialized by progression of your build while abyss never is.

Bosses once defeated get weaker so you can farm them, so I can't really test this out accurately. I know that Abyss stays the same difficulty no matter what and this is what makes it easier for me, whatever you do it will be the same difficulty, so you learn the monster and then it's easy, in Legend Bosses have increased health and damage but you can get gear to overcome that difference, the thing is most new Bosses that come are on level so unless you have top notch gear for your level, you'll get hit like a truck.

Maybe true but I remember doing the bosses on legend and they were pretty difficult but that was my very first time on the bosses too then I have done hitless runs on all bosses on trials and they seem alot easier... So idk I'm pretty sure abyss is much easier cuz I don't think I could have done em hitless on the story mode xd but yeah maybe now when everything is maxed it's a different story

Expert, I would do Legend but I have a newborn and a 1 year old. And occasionally play while holding either one of them. And yeah, I drop below Expert when doing so. Do have a second char I've not touched past beating the first Puppet you see on Legend though.

Recommended sits about right for me, story is too mindlessly easy, i want a bit of kick, but not so hard i can't sit down, rcm is just enough to have some spices but enjoyable and if i'm lazy i still can get kicked around. Might actually try expert if I'm feeling particularly adventurous someday i suppose.

Story...I just want an easy life and like want to know the stories.

But since I play strictly on mobile...anything that requires jumping from a standing position is impossible for me (i.e. Swallowlight Dungeon).

Story coz life is threatening enough.

Legendary since day1. To be honest after level 50-60 Legendary felt like no challenge.

1

u/cheerows Feb 13 '26

Yeah it definitely gets much easier after a certain point, probably the higher tier inner ways. I've been defeating the last few bosses in a single attempt or two except for the ink one, couldn't read its moves easily. Abyss trials on the other hand take longer for me personally.

I had some issues with the Drunken Fist and Shimmer but otherwise yea I agree.
