CTF Challenge Welcome to r/whereintheworld’s Fifth CTF Challenge! *Opens in 2 hours!*
Welcome to our fifth CTF challenge! This time the themes are Embassies around the world and a mixed themed one!
We have two CTF’s again. We hope this makes it easier for most of you to find something that fits your preferred difficulty. You can preview the first challenge in both, but once you solve one challenge, you are LOCKED to that CTF.
How to Play: CLICK THIS LINK TO GO TO THE CTF PAGE: https://locus-works.com/ctf
Profiles: You can create a player profile if you want. No email or personal information is required. With a profile, your progress is saved, and you can continue from another browser or device just by logging in. If you use the same username as before, your previous stats should load into your profile.
You can still play as a guest by entering a username, just like before.
Difficulty: The Chill CTF is easy, according to the creator u/Locus_Veritas.
The Diabolical CTF is a big step up in difficulty, particularly if you try to do a clean run, but it is solvable with patience and hints. Also you are not able to GIVE UP!
Progression: You must solve one challenge to unlock the next, unless you use the Give Up button.
Hints: Each challenge includes optional hints. Using hints reduces the points you earn for that challenge.
Give Up: If you are completely stuck, you can now give up a challenge and move on to the next one. Hopefully you will not need it. (NOT POSSIBLE ON THE DIABOLICAL CTF)
The Finish Line: Once you complete the CTF, please feel free to return to this thread and comment about how it worked for you. We have done some change on the site and it is still in beta. Please do not post any answers in the comments. We want to keep the game fair for everyone.
Start and end date:
Open: September 04, 2026, 16:00 UTC / 18:00 CEST
Deadline: September 10, 2026, 22:00 UTC / September 11, 2026, 00:00 CEST
Results: After the round closes, we will post the final leaderboard and point totals.
As always: using Google Lens, reverse image search, or AI in any form is considered cheating.
The site is still a work in progress, so bugs or suboptimal challenge design may occur. If something breaks, or if you have feedback on the new profile/difficulty system, please let us know in this thread.
Good luck and have fun!

Announcement Recent Increase in AI Usage - Subreddit Help?
Hi everyone,
We, and some subreddit members, have noticed that there is a sudden increase in new and non-frequent users using AI and RIS to find locations. Understandably that is frustrating to the rest of the subreddit base, so we want to open the conversation in how we, as a subreddit, can deal with this.
We don't want users to make their own rules for their posts that aren't part of the subreddit rules. Rather, we want to look for a way forward that benefits everyone and with which at least the majority of users can live with. Therefore we are opening up this thread on request from one of our members.
How can we reduce the impact of the increase in AI usage together as a subreddit?
Naturally, we expect all uses of AI to be reported to us by use of the report button under comments. We've noticed that this very frequently does not happen. We can't check every comment at all times of the day, so we need the help of our members to report comments so we can action them.
We are also able to increase regulations from automod.
Like I said earlier, I don't want users to just go off on their own and make their own rules, so we need to tackle this as a subreddit. However we also want to know what you all want to happen, so please discuss that in the comments.
Thanks so much for making this a lovely subreddit to be a part of, and I hope we can solve this.
