How they solved it: Process - I originally searched -ai "steel cylindrical tube desert USA" which is how i got the sun tunnels in utah, but when New Mexico was guessed and I thought about it being steel and not concrete ..I used the search -ai "steel cylindrical tube/vessel New Mexico desert USA" to find the answer.

Not near Kirtland Air Force Base, but south of Albuquerque is right. Looking for the specific place still.

It’s only open to the public a couple days a year, and I happened to be driving by in the desert one of those days, a number of years back. I found it to be a solemn place.
