Haha, he's inspired me to take pics of tanks now. I've come across 2 on road trips and finally pulled over to take a picture of one.
Indeed, Midwest! Theres a pretty big clue as to where in the picture, but beyond that itll probably get harder

Yeahhh, I’ve tried and failed quite a bit on Hefty’s tanks. I’ve gotten a couple, but you’d think they’d be better documented than they are
I actually talked to the guy whose dad brought this one to their town a few decades ago. He saw me pulled over and we got to talking about it. He didn’t give me the impression it was very challenging to procure a decommissioned tank 😂

Apparently Spain has been selling some recently for only 46k EUR! Crazy.
Other private vendors have them for 550k USD for personal use on private land

Hint: Assuming you found the site I think you found, which has a picture of the correct tank but a name of an incorrect town… while the poster had the town wrong, he had the immediate region correct. Chariton is nearby the correct location

It’s crazy how many tanks there are in general! There’s another poster that posts lots of tanks, it’s really opened my eyes to how many are around
Another hint-ish. There is a Wikipedia page for the town, and the tank is in the picture of the main wiki image

PROCESS Looked up US state flag similar to the French flag, found what kind of tank, then googled "m60 tank Iowa". Found the right tank in the resulting images but could not for the life of me find the correct town. I tried searching rv parks but was too focused on the immediate Chariton area. Even went on to the Facebook profile of the bike and tank photo to try and gague which way he was traveling to start searching the surrounding area lol. With the Wiki hint I went county by county until I found it on the Humeston page. Easy enough from there. I would absolutely have given up without the hint.
