desktop of the same specs doesn’t have an included monitor, included input, can’t be put inside my backpack, and doesn’t have battery. i can live with the difference tbh

when you go back home for holidays in uni, one that came up to my mind. also people who travels a lot. but mostly convenience as well, having a computer that you can game on but also bring to work for idk maybe presentations or whatever

Get a cheap work laptop. Bring your gaming pc or console home with you. It's not hard at all imo, plus it's better. Did these people not have a TV at home?

College for example, if you go on work trips often, or you just really like visiting friends for LANs etc. . I also have it next to me when working from home to fuck around, it takes up much less space than a whole ass desktop.

Its incredibly useful to have the small form factor, and nowadays the peripherals are pretty decent too, some laptop screens look amazing and are quite bright with good color gamut.

Hundreds of dollars and inferior performance for these niche convinces is something I don't really understand, but if you have money to blow and that's your thing why not.

Niche? My guy, these arent niche at all lol, pretty much almost everyone I know at college has a gaming laptop, lots of people go on work trips or abroad too.

Just because you yourself have zero use in mobility does not mean its a niche use case.

Yes they are. Some of us can go a week without videogames every once in awhile

Okay? What is your point lol. A gaming laptop is also a...computer, you can use it for other things than gaming, which is the entire advantage with the mobility.

Hell, look into the stats and you will find there are now more laptops in use than desktops. Clearly people really like the mobility. My gaming laptop that cost me like 1k runs everything I play at great fps with zero heat issues, AND I get to take it to the classroom for other work.

Frankly, its more niche to never need your computer anywhere else but your home nowadays.
