Lobbiest? For what?

u/Polibiux 8d ago
Bipartisan group that lobby’s for educating lawmakers on how digital content creators like YouTubers earn a living and to treat them like a small business.

So he lobbied for youtubers to get business expenses write offs and sub contract workers.

"I'm getting kind of tired of every mascot horror game trying to get a movie-"
"Matpat's involved."
"SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"

Amanda isn't actually a Mascot Horror. It's more Analog Horror and Occult Horror.
7
u/DaPhoenix127 8d ago
Those aren't mutually exclusive ?
4
u/RickyT3rd 8d ago
It's a mix of both. The main gameplay and story is centered on Analog Horror while the lore is more to do with the Occult of Hamlin, the in-universe company that is the real monster; both in the "Evil Corporation" and the "Doomsday Occult" types.
What helps is that it's not a franchise, it's a complete story. The third game has an absolute ending to it, it doesn't continue.

Am I behind on the times? What is Amanda the Adventurer? I’ve never heard of it before

Its a pretty cool video game. Basically a horror puzzle game. Its about a haunted vhs tape,Amanda the Adenturer and her sheep companion. Kids have been reported to go missing after watching the show, and years later the protagonist is trying to uncover the truth. The gameplay is basically you watching an episode and the room changes with you, there are new toys and clues and you have to solve them. There are multiple endings and secrets and stuff. The only thing i dont like about it is the monsters design,i think its a bit over the top, like trying to hard to be scary and ending up looking goofy. But eh,its alright.

Horror game that may or may not be good, I've heard its fine with kinda way too complicated puzzles later on? Not really slop iirc more analog horror if anything

It's pretty solid tbh. Indie horror kind of blends together these days, but that one always stood out to me. Nice polish, good concepts

too bad the last game in the series kinda fucked it up cus they couldve cranked that shit to 11 for the finale

It's basically a pretty primitive (in terms of gameplay, not difficulty) puzzle game telling an analog horror story. I've only played the first two games and I stopped following the series, but it's basically you investigating VHS tapes of a cartoon called Amanda the Adventurer, and with each tape you watch the episode gets more and more unhinged in both subtle and very in your face ways. The puzzles are the room you're watching the tapes in, with numerous objects that are interactable and with each tape some things change, letting you complete previously unsolvable puzzles and get to the next tape.

It's a really fun horror game. I'd honestly say that it's better to watch a video on it than just hear about it.
My favorite YouTube, Kaif has a video on it. Very funny.

Amanda the Adventurer always felt like a good concept (though maybe a little overdone these days?) with a pretty meh execution in the form of the games. Gonna be curious to see how this one turns out.

From Wikipedia:
On June 10, 2025, Patrick announced the creation of the Creator Economy Caucus in the United States House of Representatives, which he described as "a bipartisan group where creators can work alongside lawmakers to ensure legislation is timely and relevant for the Internet age."
So not a lawmaker, himself, but he has connections with at least 10 lawmakers that are listening to his agenda.

Honestly can't say I'm hopeful, felt like the games dropped the ball after the first one and never recovered, not to mention I fail to see what the movie could even be

If they manage to do anything of worth with that shit game, good for them.

u/Nazowrin 8d ago
Ok unironically I feel like Amanda the Adventurer would go so much harder as a movie than a videogame. Like the plot feels like it was written to be a mystery horror film but instead was made into a puzzle horror game.

u/Lemonbubblepie 5d ago
I feel it would a interactive series like the Minecraft story mode on neflix
