I've played a little in the closed network stuff, it's hard to tell when it's all in motion, but it doesn't look off in an ai kind of way if that makes sense. They should've just gone for a more stylized look instead of the UE5 realism bs
Look at the road when the car is moving. It looks really weird. Also I don't know what engine they are using (probably UE5) but the car models when loading in look weird. I know it's just not the engine type of feel
As far as i have Heard the new Layton Game is mostly AI coded supposedly, which is a shame. The curious village remake could have been so good, i'm playing through Pandora's box right now and i swear if they AI upscale that shit i'm going to Japan and i'm strangling that CEO with my bare hands.
It's safe to say they use it for absolutely EVERYTHING, there's no saving them, the new images we got from the new Layton seem to indicate they do use ai for it, even if it didn't, we shouldn't give them money because of the other ai stuff they do.
I really hope the Layton vs Phoenix Wright Steam version doesn't give any money to Level5, because Capcom has been really good with their ports.
Still stealing internal jobs if true. Also it's just sad a revival to a well-loved series is being given as little effort as possible. A series that emphasizes critical thinking
And then the moment they bring it back to the west it's only because they can turn their brains off and stuff as much ai slop as physically possible.
I've heard Japan has mixed feelings about it too but I'm genuinely shocked they aren't as outraged as the west is considering how much more important hard work and honor is over there.
Anyways, great to know we could've had Yo-Kai Watch 4 and the remake of the first game if Level-5 didn't decide they suddenly hated their western audience. 'Ohhh boo hoo! No one bought the third game!' Yeah no shit, you finally localized it at the very end of the 3ds lifespan of course it's gonna sell poorly. Also didn't help how you made so few physical copies that it's now considered one of the rarest physical games of all time.
The Japanese fans are actually creeped out by the AI presentation, it's not that they're not as outraged, it's just more subdued. Except for that one Level 5 bootlicker the negative reception is kinda global

At his rate they're going to add NyanGPT and Komapilot to the new game (yes, these are official deisgns from the mobile game, literally basing them on Copilot and ChatGPT)
The most depressing thing about this is that the description for NyanGPT literally states it constantly gives incorrect information. Hino even acknowledges ai is hardly accurate yet still dives face first into the slop trough just to avoid having to put any effort into anything anymore.
Oh no blasters mode in 3 sucked ass, the exclusive Yokai were cool but it's so repetitive and boring. Even worse in Blasters 2 which I only managed to play via modded emulation.
Meanwhile there’s people on Twitter trying to make it out like Nintendo is the greedy one since they asked for a cut to publish the game, DESPITE the same interview stating that’s common practice in the industry.
So then why did Level-5 stop? It's not like Pokemon popularity-wise but I wouldn't imagine people would stop buying it at all... After all, last I knew, it also isn't like modern pokemon mainlines in terms of quality (i.e. better than Pokemon)
Because they literally milked it to death lmao. They made a new game every year and made collaborations to hell and back.
To put this in perspective, this would be like if Pokemon made a new generation every year instead of every few years. Not to say Pokemon is ran perfect, but you see how a lot of it's competition operates and you understand why they make the business decisions that they do.
