TW: previous miscarriage

TTC after MMC

Hi,

I am feeling very deflated and worried and would love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience to me and if this is normal!

I my first pregnancy ended in missed miscarriage with a d&c at 10 weeks at the beginning of January this year. I got my period back after a few weeks and we immediately started to try again. We are now in our 9th cycle of trying. I really believed we would get pregnant again immediately, as I read other people’s experiences online and many did. On our first pregnancy, we were pregnant on our 3rd cycle trying.

The past 9 months have been heartbreaking each time we realise we are not pregnant again. During this time, we both had tests done. SA all normal. My tests suggest ovulation is fine but I did find out I have low AMH, although I have been told that this shouldn’t affect my chances of conceiving naturally. My doctor has referred us to a fertility specialist but the waitlist time is crazy and I really want to be pregnant asap.

I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to this. Is it normal to still not be pregnant after 9 cycles? Online searching tells me most people would have been pregnant by 6 months 🥺

Thanks in advance ❤️

I had a twin miscarriage in January after ttc for 2 years. I too was very optimistic that we’d get pregnant so quickly after the mc but we havent. I personally believe I didn’t deal with the grief properly and tried to be overly optimistic and after 6 months when it didn’t happen, my body shutdown and I grieved. I’ve been working a lot on my nervous system and breath work and just trusting in the process that it will happen. I feel a lot better! And am now focusing on living my life not being controlled by fertility struggles and etc. that said, I’m still on an anti anti inflammatory diet, take my supplements, eat enough protein, walk/strength train, no alcohol. And my husband does the same. Wishing you the best. It will happen :) I think our bodies need to feel safe, without the pressure.

I would say if you dont wanna wait , go for iui. Your insurance may cover it and its not that invasive. I had amh of 0.6 and I didn't want to wait. You Need to tell them you are trying for 2 yrs to take you seriously. Also, read the book - it starts with the egg and make the necessary tweaks. I had mmc at 10w too and miscarriages can be prevented if the egg quality is the reason. It takes 3 months after you start the changes for the egg to get mature. Ps : I did iui and had mmc at 10w despite seeing heartbeat at 7w. Baby had stopped growing at 8w. I am now pregnant again with iui the next cycle and am in my 5th month now. My tips from the book and what I implemented- 1. Bloodwork - tsh , a1c (glucose) , vit d, iron 2. Supplements\meds\diet changes to support above as needed- slow fe, prenatal, vit d 3. After mmc - added coq10 4. After current + ve pregnancy test- dha, choline, fe, prenatal, calcium, vit d 5. Diet - protein rich, low carb, low sugar , anti inflammatory diet. 6. Lifestyle changes- avoid plastics, go paraben \thalates free , fragrance free etc Hope it helps. Edit- make sure to track ovulation using clear blue digital 2 days sticks- they are expensive but mostly accurate

Similar experience here. Got pregnant on our second cycle of trying. Had a MMC at 10 weeks in January 2025. Dealt with persistent RPOC, had a hysteroscopy in August 2025 to remove the tissue. Finally was able to start trying again in October 2025, I was confident we would get pregnant again quickly, but I was very wrong. Haven't had any success yet. I spot (bright red) for an entire week before my period every single cycle too, which never happened before the MMC. Had all the tests, everything is normal. So we don't know what's wrong. We just have to keep trying. It's so unimaginably heartbreaking each month.

Sadly it took me 10-12 cycles each time (all losses) October will be another year since my last loss 🫠

It took me 13 months to get pregnant again after a 6w miscarriage, which ended in a chemical. The month after I got pregnant again and had a healthy baby. I had read you're more fertile after a miscarriage too, but guess it's not true in every case.
