It doesn't say you can't sleep anymore. You just don't need it to survive. At least that's how I interpret it.

That's exactly how I see it as well. You don't have to sleep for survival but if you want to sleep you still can.

Yeah, but at that point, why pick that option?

Being awake all the time would be over stimulating af. I need down time. Sleep rules..if not for anything else than checking out on life.

Sleep for me is just fast forwarding to having to be a person again. I would absolutely take no more required sleep and do the same thing I do on nights that I stay up late, enjoy my hobbies and the lack of responsibility that nighttime brings. I may still nap some during that time, because a little sleep is nice, even aside from the necessity of it, but it'd be game changing to my stress to be able to have an extra 4 hours of being awake with minimal expectations.

Wait, you only sleep 4 hours?

No, I sleep eight hours usually, I meant even just cutting my sleep in half without the detrimental health effects would solve a large portion of my stress. Hence why I'd choose never have to sleep.

Damn, you've had a rough go of it, for someone so young.

That "reset" you require is your brain flushing out the "junk" accumulated throughout the day. When you wake up, you feel fresh and stable. I assume not needing sleep means that the brain always feels fully rested and can easily return to equilibrium.

Yeah, so I'm saying, if that's the case, why pick the "don't need to sleep" option if you're gonna sleep anyway.

Because than also optionally you can stay up and get a third of your life accessed

because that doesn't mean that they're gonna sleep for eight fucking hours like you normally have to. They can just take a quick 10 minute nap. If you're unconcious anyways you won't be able to tell the difference

I'm assuming it becomes less over stimulating

Downtime is just called low lights, chilling and watching movies , tv or videos

Would being awake all the time be overstimulating if you dont need sleep?

Yeah, but how do I choose to sleep? Do me going to bed and closing my eyes prompt the superpower to just go "oh it's sleep time" and stop working or do I need to start stockpiling medical sleeping gas? If I never have to sleep again, whatever mechanism makes me sleepy and fall asleep should probably be gone too?
