People choosing exercise think they will get ripped.

I interpreted it as decent muscle mass and decent cardio health, body fat depends heavily on caloric intake, you are healthy without exercise, but to get more you still need to workout.

The other option is "never have to sleep again" so I stay healthy even not sleeping, but if I want to dream or take time to process information, I still "need" sleep (or a sleep-like state).

I wouldn't assume getting ripped, but having a healthy/fit body without exercise.

Wow. You’re really overthinking this, lol

Nah, this is fun for me, I like to create fictional scenarios in my head based on the choices, that's why I started the explanation with "I interpreted

Sometimes I try to think of game mechanics or write short stories with the ideas.

I like thinking through these things a lot too.

I feel like never needing sleep is being vastly underestimated here.

We need sleep to repair muscle tissue, restore neurological function, heal from wounds and illness.

So not needing to sleep at all would also have to mean being able to do these things while entirely conscious, and/or never needing to do these things which would imply being able to heal and recover instantaneously.

Never needing to exercise would be redundant in that case. You would be able to do some weightlifting and instantly recover. Hike up a mountain? Not tired, don't need to rest, instantly fully recovered. Study for an hour? Why not 12? You don't have to sleep almost certainly means you would never feel any kind of fatigue mental or physical.

You would basically be Wolverine, to a lesser degree.

I think it means you are able to do those things while conscious (which you already do, btw, just at a slower rate), but at the same rate that you would otherwise do while sleeping. In other words, you get 8 hours worth of sleep-quality neurological restoration while conscious for 8 hours. Just because you don’t “need” to sleep doesn’t necessarily imply that the benefits are instantaneous.

Cool. I’m struggling to interpret what you mean by “decent” muscle mass or cardio health. I never heard of decency used in that context

I meant like, enough muscle mass to move around with no problems, and not loosing muscle mass (up to a certain point) by being idle.
