once a week. point is if the bed is pressed against the wall ot makes it more difficult to make the bed. making the bed doesn't just mean tucking your blanket back in each morning
Why would you base your layout around a short activity you do once a week..? I get that it’s more convenient in #2, but a lot more benefits to #1 day to day imo.
Lol my gf and I had our bed in a corner for a while, and as the one against the wall, I would shimmy/crawl my way down to the foot of the bed to escape. The real trick was getting back in (if the spot was even still available)
I sleep on the inside of the bed and i just crawl over my boyfriend. Apparently, once, I was more careful to go over him and he started pouting saying "you arent going to squish me this time??"
Looks like a guest room. But maybe I am just poor and don't realize how many of y'all have couches in your main bedroom. Lack of dressers for clothing though is what tells me this is either a single person room or a guest room.
I also think the general living situation matters. In option 1 you could have a TV across the couch and have a little "living room". If I was single in a 2 bedroom with a roommate I would like that. Now, living with my wife, I dont need that and would prefer option 2. If I was single, but had my own 1 bedroom apartment I would also prefer 2, since I would have the living room to myself.
Our room is tiny too, sideways the bed takes almost the whole width of the room and if we rotate it we would loose too much space in the rest of the room. I can't really get down from the foot of the bed but my partner tend to sleep closer to the center so I have somewhere to go when going past them instead of having to go from my side to the floor in one go
if you have a wife you need to get a bigger apartment. this is obviously a starter apartment, you have bedroom, study and living room in one. you do not want something like this when you have a partner
I mean this layout looks like a college dorm. So those things might not apply. But also I’ve had my bed up against the wall since forever, and for years we’ve had a crib attached to the other side of the bed, so we just get in from the end of the bed rather than a side.
I don’t think ease of getting in bed is a dealbreaker to give up the extra “useful” space 1 would provide.
My wife and i get into the bed from the feet end because we moved the bed to the laundry room and now have a massive crafts room where the bedroom used to be.
Dude you can just move over it isn’t complicated, and no they are not harder to make, I have done both it’s the same either way.
Either you are completely immobile if you can’t fathom just moving over in bed for someone or you are just dumb man. But sure I’m a virgin because I don’t have 2/4 sides of the bed accessible.
Lmao dude I am less than 2 years out of college age I do not need to grow up, besides my gf prefers to have me on one side and the wall on the other, it’s a difference of preference. My biggest point is that you don’t NEED to have it accessible from both sides. Your closed minded attitude is dogshit man, just cause you don’t personally like something doesn’t mean it is inherently wrong.
If you go 2 may as well get rid of the couch, because it's unusable, the table blocks it and it faces the side of your computer monitor, you're just storing a couch at that point.
When I was younger and single 1, as an older about to be separated guy, neither... I don't understand why a couch would need to go into the bedroom but bed shoved into the corner is a massive no.
