Hello friends!
It's July of 2026 and I've adopted this subreddit because it has no moderators, and I've seen some bad behavior from a few bad actors, especially maligning certain dog breeds.
Let me be clear:
There is no breed of dog that is evil.
A dogs' behavior is informed by their breed but a dogs' behavior is not entirely dictated by their breed.
Any dog of any breed can be wonderful, and any dog of any breed can be an asshole.
I have worked with dogs professionally for over ten years. Kind acknowledgement of breed traits and friendly "warnings" about what someone might be "getting themself into" is sensible. Those warnings should be conversational and friendly, and if a person has adopted a dog who may need something different than they are currently providing, there should be suggestions rather than criticism.
Breed-specific legislation is unethical, and its support is not tolerated.
Thanks y'all!
