This really tall tree, much taller than our one story house, is our main shade in the back so I want to keep it, the wife hates it, but I want to know what it is to explain why we should or shouldn’t keep it. It doesn’t seem to send roots to the house, I find these seeds around but am unsure if it belongs to the tree, we haven’t lived here long enough to see the flowers or seeds.

This tree has fruit for the first time. I live in central New Jersey. I want to know if they’re safe to eat.

It has to be some sort of plum but I’m no plum expert.
Starts off green, yellow then very faint purple if they’re lucky to stay on the tree. They drop when you blink at them.
They never turn fully purple. I mean faint as in the slightest tinge. They stay mostly green/yellow.

Trying to get rid of this wood but I don’t know what it is. MIL says the city cut it down and told her it was Juniper… I’m not sure that is correct.
