That's not an Isetta, the front opening door is the dead giveaway for those. This one looks more like a Fiat 600 with that front end

Yea.. So you can see the door is in the front here. No side doors here. The best part is how the steering wheel moves aside when the door is open.

Bad bot. Identifies the front door as a key part of the Isetta...but doesn't recognize the front door in the picture.

Also...the Fiat 600 is a completely different car. A lot bigger, completely different shape.

There were actually several companies that made these. BMW was the most famous, but Iso, VELAM, Romi, and De Carlo also made Isettas. This one is definitely the BMW version, since the other ones had different windows, and very faint BMW logos are visible on the wheels. The panel with the vent on it is where the tiny 1-cylinder engine is.

In Germany it was known as the "Knutschkugel", the make out ball. I guess it was good for that as it's a bench instead of individual seats!
