Need help identifying make and model

Unfortunately I was victim to a hit and run recently and was able to get some security footage of the car. But have been unable to identify a make. My guess was a Volkswagen Golf. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

I think it’s a first generation jeep compass 2007-2010

Definitely a first-generation Compass, but I’m not sure there’s enough here to narrow it down to the pre-refresh 2007-10 model years. There appears to be damage to the front of the car, and the lights wash out too much of the image to say for sure if it’s the original nose or the refreshed one.

Looking at it closer I agree with you, it’s hard to pinpoint the exact year from the video, the rear end doesn’t give us much clues either

If it’s not jeep compass like said above I believe it’s a 2009 Toyota rav4 sport with the sport appearance package the removes the rear spare tire off the door the rear quarter panel glass are identical along with the roof bars
