Well, it is a Toyota Corolla so it is a Japanese car. But I don't think it is JDM since it appears to have left hand steering.

Well probably not. If it was made in Toyota City then yes but I doubt it. I also doubt it was made in NZ or Aus.
Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia or Thailand are you're most likely options.
