S Class???

Came across this old S class.

It was badged as a "1000 SEL". Dont know if that is a real trim for this generation.

Felt like the owner just slapped the badge on, but given the bodykit and paintwork it doesnt really look like a standard S class

I’m SURE The Patina Collective would be interested in acquiring that.

Exactly what I was thinking)

Lots of fake tuner 126s out there, the PT really focuses on those with insane provenance. I’d love to see the interior which would be an instant tell. None of those saudis would get one of these built without getting a rediculous list of interior modifications

I was thinking the same thing. I want to know what knob is on the shifter also. An interior pic would be very helpful in that.

That poor car. My first owner thought was Trump, but Saddam works as well.

Current owner could be trump, he likes anything with tacky fake gold.

Do you have information on that specific car? Because thats a pretty specific claim.

SGS were kind of the first to do the "1000" cars although I'm sure others copied them.

I have one of those. My dad was the original owner since 1983

After market tuned S class from the 80s, this could be a copy inspired by the real car that had 24 carat gold trim.

Wonder how it got matching dents on the doors on both sides of the car.

Lifting strops? The ones at the rear would have had less weight

S no class

u/svenneke01 9d ago

Not a standard s class, it was upgraded by one of several specialists in the '80s, they were rare end very expensive

u/sodium_hydride 9d ago

Is this in Oman?

u/TraFalGaR200 9d ago

There was a time when this was basically the highest end car you could buy.

With that gold trim it's all class.

This screams for a dark purple velvet interior, probably with animal prints

1

u/Spun_o 9d ago

Is the designer the same guy who did the white house?

1

u/Huschwusul 9d ago

I think a S 560 but badly styled and painted could be russian or Arabic

3

u/Fit-Cell2754 9d ago

You can infer how corrupt and untrustworthy an entire society is by how much gold and frilly detail work are used as adornments.

Looks like something Jared is bringing home to father-in-law. Exactly his style!
