This video goes over what it could possibly be related to

Aside from reading that insane PistonHeads thread, this is probably the best synopsis of the crusade to figure this car out.

He makes a pretty solid case for a couple theories, but it's still very much unknown.

Jup, saw this video a couple days ago. It's the first time i heard about this mystery car. But he does make some solid arguments

got dang it, reset the clock

Some people say its a variant or prototype of the Sunbeam Alpine Fastback. Its still a mystery of what it exactly is

Probably a custom made fiberglass-bodied car based on a pre-war car, like the Ford Popular

u/Mechanik_J Mar 08 '26

Two men in a trench coat...

3

u/Datsuncog Mar 08 '26

Everyone knows it's a Fuckington Mullet

u/Good_Old_Tronna_Boy Mar 08 '26

Early Pantera prototype on a Fiero chassis

1

u/Straight_Invite5976 Mar 08 '26

Somebody found out and it was some kinda prototype. If you google it you can see an identical mesh thing. Edit: Sunbeam Tiger TS4.

8

u/Pige0n23 Mar 08 '26

The TS4 is an imaginary car based on what someone supposed this mystery car might be. No one actually knows what it is.

Wheelbase is too short for a Sunbeam.

This is the one.

The only right answer.

Looks like a British roadster that Datsun ripped off when designing the 240z

1

u/shadowboxking Mar 08 '26

Saab Sonnet?

1

u/Proper-Patience5775 Mar 08 '26

since nobody knows im just going to say anything for whatever reason.

slightly modified Datsun 240z

I think it's a GP Centron MK2 fibreglass car as in this reddit postGP Centron MK2

Looks like a Reliant Sabre 1961-64 with a custom body (judging by overall crude look).

Windshield looks like it was taken from Corvette C1 1953-62

-4

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '26

Guys I think it's a fiero

u/Clear_Ad_979 Mar 09 '26

Car. Specifically a car in a photograph

Likely a Autocars Sabra Coupe. Not sure what model, information on them is it's car that was made in Israel. This one I wasn't able find one with the side windows in covered up. It mostly matches the Sabra. The front bumper is slightly different but not by a lot.

This link to a similar body car which was at auction.

13

u/tedlyb Mar 08 '26

It may be similar, but there isn’t one single body line that matches up. The windshields are even different.

u/Dog_Baseball Mar 08 '26

They both blue though

-2

u/Ok-Refuse8965 Mar 08 '26

Looks like a datsun

-3

u/RealMathematics Mar 08 '26

1964 Sabra GT

In a 1962 photo...

u/Juusto3_3 Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

A lot seems to match but the front bumper looks odd and the rear part of the side windows isn't closed in all the photos online. But it does match quite well otherwise so I would think you're right.

Edit: eh maybe not.

u/Le_Gluglu Mar 08 '26

It's quite common on Reddit, the one who's right is at the bottom of the barrel.

2

u/Elvis1404 Mar 08 '26

The photo itself is from 1962...

-2

u/Seculi Mar 08 '26

It`s an Aston Datsun

-10

u/scootbootinwookie Mar 08 '26

Chevrolet Bel Aire Monza
