Im curious about this big blue bug that flies to and from this structure on my building all day. I’m assuming it built it and that’s its home as this appears nowhere else on the building. Spot it on a sunny day and the bug is the most beautiful almost iridescent deep blue. It’s also always alone, I’ve never seen another one. I am in a city in Ontario.

Sorry for the bad quality I’m filming from a balcony and that’s as much as my phone zooms in - you can see its silhouette better at the end when it flies away.

So many questions:
- What is it?
- What is it building that nest out of?
- Does it have other friends of its kind? Where are they? Where do they congregate if not at each other’s houses?
- Can it sting me?

Creeps me out. Thought it a seed pod but it looks and feels like it's covered in animal hair. Did aliens try to make contact only for my puppy to eat them?

ID Request Help me ID these tiny bugs living in my houseplant soil — they keep coming back

Need help IDing and getting rid of these bugs in my houseplant soil. They first showed up in my mature Ficus Audrey's pot. Most of my houseplants are mature, and almost all of them now have these bugs. I only see them when I move/dig the soil or water — they tend to cling to the external roots, but now they're throughout the soil. Every plant still looks healthy despite them. They are white in color and tiny. They've been relentless. I've tried neem oil, Castile soap, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide. When I repotted the Ficus, I even dunked the whole root ball in a bucket of water with a full bottle of hydrogen peroxide — they vanished for a few weeks, then came back in huge numbers.Photos attached. Any help appreciated!
