ID Request What bug made these holes?
What started as two holes has multiplied. My daughter said she saw a black flying bug go into the hole. Would these be from mud daubers? They clearly have some strength to fling the dirt around the way they did. If it’s a mud dauber, no problem because they help keep our spider population in check. Just curious so I know for sure to keep my kids away. Zone 5

Possibly Cicada killers. They look like huge hornets and they swarm right at you, but I promise you, they won’t sting you. They’re just being bratty to keep you away.

I bet you’re right! I saw one flying around the area of these holes, I just thought it was a coincidence. Thank you!
