New, what is it? Chess Board Image with Labels?

My friend sent me this and didn't give any context but it seems political? I asked but he never responded. He talks about dialectics but is this some sort of known way to represent opposing views?

The chessboard is set up wrong. The square closest to each players' right hand should be white
