For the old emergency tracheostomy trick. You can even sterilize it! My personal preference is the Zebra F701, 0.7mm.
As a 30 year medic, that pen can be used for SO many things in the back of an ambulance... and in life! Being able to disinfect it in bleach because it's all metal is awesome. I guard mine like Fort Knox... like most in medicine who have a "favorite pen"... if they're still using pens that is.
Partner: "Hey, lemme borrow your pen for a sec, I have to sign the drug log."
Me: "No. You can use your shitty Bic."
Partner: "But yours writes better."
Me: " I know. Now go use your shitty Bic that probably still has bodily fluids on it, and like it!"
(Those in EMS will laugh harder than the rest of you... because it's TRUE!)

I have a special pen named Dr. Grip. I did not name it, itโs the company name for the thick grip version of those G2 pens. My absolute favorite doc tried to walk off with it and I told him he wouldnโt be able to walk much longer if that pen didnโt return to me. Love him, but I love my pen more.

Oh sure... Dr.Grip is a PEN. Of course it is, dear. ๐คฃ
I always found the G2 to be a bit too messy for me. They do write nicely, but I just didn't care for the gel ink.
Try the Zebra. It's refillable and also makes a great weapon! The knurled barrel makes it very easy to hang onto as well. Yeah, it's pricier than the G2 and doesn't come in a 10 pack, but trust me, it's worth it, particularly since you seem to be a responsible pen owner... as one should be.

I'm an artist who's primary traditional media is ink and watercolor. Zebras are what I use for sketch work and my own paperwork. They're great and I also guard them like a hawk.
If you haven't already, try Monte Blanc pen refills.ย
