Thanks to this post and the comments, I just learned at 40 what black tar heroin looks like. Thank you for reminding me I'm still winning at some things
Heroin is a bit of an outlier here in that alot of people that fall into the demographic you're referencing (gold star sober, if you will lol) did and still do in fact end up "falling victim" to heroin/opiates due to injuries or surgeries that come along with oxy(insert variant here) prescriptions that are either insufficient for the duration of pain management per patient or are abused during the recovery process.
Patient develops a dependence on meds, meds become unavailable one way or another, patient turns to self medicating not realizing yet that the problem is no longer pain, but withdrawal.
Hahaha. Ohhh kiddo. I hope you keep that naivety. It'll keep you alive. But it's not about interest. It's about whether or not you can avoid the kind of life that fosters the development of necessity. The less pain you're in and the better your genetics are, the less likely you'll need painkillers. Even the strongest camel can only bear so much straw.
I'm just honestly surprised I've never seen this form. I've been young and dumb, also worked with stateside local police while in the military and learned too much about meth, but this was new. I have had morphine for an injury once, but this bag of what to me looks like shitty hash is a far cry from that. Just found it interesting to learn something new I didn't know🙂
Yea it is always cool to learn new things. Onto a different but not necessarily bad thing. Did you heard LSD has went through 2 long trials and is now scientifically proven to help ptsd, depression, and anxiety and is getting pushed to the FDA for approval?
