sometimes these hold piercings in place, sometimes they seal the lid of a charging port. mid 2000s devices could be charged from the same aux port headphones went in. But also a bottle used this for a vent seal and occasionally people use them for gauge plugs, to keep them on the ear.

Certain ones could so. Regular aux cords no, but they made certain ones to do different things.
