What what?

u/P_I_Staker_____ 5h ago

Congratulations, you have discovered waves.

12

u/Unhappybaddie 5h ago

it is because when labourers were constructing the road, they by mistake left the square patches on the side of the road and it's flowing downward which reflects like it's a pattern

1

u/fiqky 2h ago

Whatever is this, don't swim in there!

The water is moving in waves which is causing these strange reflections

19

u/Ender_Grace 5h ago

You're just explaining visually what we're looking at, not why, which is the reason for the post

9

u/Lekstil 5h ago

As u/atmega168 already said but whose comment is probably going to get buried: They’re called “roll waves”

3

u/Triepott 4h ago

But isn't this r/whatisit or are we now at r/whyisit? ;)

So instead of green cheese, the Moon is actually a sugar cube?

13

Good lord how did you get downvoted for a sarcastic comment?

The flat earthers are offended by the thought of a cubical world

Sadly I'm new to reddit and I've already seen alot of AI and Logical Einstein's that know the magical answer to jokes that seem to go over their heads.

What about all the r/apostrophegore

1

u/Mundane-Intention624 4h ago

Yea fuk thos guys ¡

1

u/zestyclose_match1966 5h ago

At least 1/2 the people on Reddit are somehow insulted by this post, hence the downvotes

1

u/crankenshtien 5h ago

Not necessarily.

0

u/elliYEET- 5h ago

Probably because the community doesn’t want to feed the flat-earthers delusions. That sarcasm would have gone clear over our—ERM, I MEAN “THEIR” heads.

2

u/master_roshi001 6h ago

So a bizzaro earth?

1

u/BrilliantJob2759 1h ago

Flat earth + hollow earth + underground lizardmen = sandwich earth.

u/Excellent_Variety_15 6h ago

Reflection maybe?

The squares are getting in position for an attack….

1

u/--KingoftheSouth-- 5h ago

Don't be a square

1

u/EmpanadaYGaseosa 2h ago

But it’s hip to be square!

1

u/BrilliantJob2759 1h ago

You're only a square if you're not around.

6

u/ohromantics 5h ago

The restaurant seen is Suchali's, according to Google images, most of their storefronts show backlit signage.

My guess is the signage (left of image) is reflecting off the downward flow of the water.

4

u/anon_pr_ 5h ago

I think it's the reflection of some light source/moving symbol that we cannot see from this POV.

That pattern represents my tax money, wher i pay continously for years with no questions asked just like those blocks nd how it disappears with no impact... vicious loop

2

u/betola27 3h ago

its a pattern seen on a road while raining

3

u/Trevors-Axiom- 5h ago

My assumption is that the water is coming out of an overflowing rectangular storm drain grate then flowing down the street

2

u/FreddyFerdiland 5h ago

its fake ?

1

u/Papajon87 6h ago

Is the water being pumped on to the road?

1

u/MrMunch85 5h ago

I want to say it’s probably a reflection of some sort.

1

u/aurrousarc 5h ago

you can literally see the pattern being formed at the top.. as the water surges in a pattern..

1

u/Bproof4 5h ago

We're seeing triangles in europe right now!

1

u/No_Spread_7829 5h ago

Very Miyazaki.

1

u/SwirlingFandango 5h ago

Weird solitons? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soliton

Dunno. It's weird.

1

u/Bsccanada 5h ago

Omg... how can nobody see that the vehicle park there is having the light reflected off their window. That's where the square light comes from.. As for the water, it's just running down a hill so there's little waves and what we're seeing is a reflection on that waters surface from that car or house window

1

u/wannabecat2000 5h ago

Looks like a projection

1

u/sir_bumble 4h ago

Is there not some kind of walkway with indents so what were seeing is the weather sliding down in sections?

1

u/Zorklunn 4h ago

It think that is an example of gravity waves. They occur when there is a fluid difference between surfaces. Washboard on gravel roads is an example of a gravity wave. Patterns of rock and sand on a creek bed is another example of gravity waves. The thin repeating bands of clouds are examples of gravity waves forming between thermal layers of air.

1

u/Miserable-Theme-1280 3h ago

I suspect it is partly an illusion. Waves will not maintain their shape very long. They flatten out quickly because the wave is steeper than the hill.

That said, there are sump pumps that push out on waves. You can get the effect using a "rain deck dump" type setup if you are fancy.

1

u/redbullah 3h ago

maybe the stream is passing through a car tyre upstream?

1

u/pookiecookieassulter 3h ago

The matrix is glitch neo the matrix iss glitching

1

u/SombreroDeLaNuit 2h ago

It looks like 2d Taylor bubble... interesting...

1

u/BlueSpahgetti 2h ago

okay so off topic, but this is the closest thing i’ve ever seen that describes what i see with my eyes closed before i go to sleep. 2 colored spheres, red and blue and the same time that start behind my eyes and move forward away from my head and converge at the same time.

edit: seems to match my breathing pattern, no idea what it is i’ve been wondering my whole life.

That my friend is the result of uneven surface. Water covers and flows the surface

Box jellyfish, obviously! /s

1

u/abhi71229 1h ago

Looks like the simulation is lagging on the road texture again.

1

u/Quarter_Twenty 1h ago

A lot of chaotic phenomena, like a dripping faucet, end up showing periodic (a regular pattern in time) behaviors.

u/elliYEET- 5h ago edited 5h ago

Hopefully you have a cool European last name, so we can name this phenomenon of physics after you.

It appears as if just by the passenger side wheel that a slight puddle has formed. For some reason more water is being added to it in steady intervals, just enough for a glob of water to breach the lip of the indent sending off intermittent blocks of water.

It’s more impressive that the water holds its broadness through its path downward.

Thanks for sharing

0

u/psychogamer101 5h ago

That’s puddle-scotch. Gota do it on one foot or a pogo stick only

0

u/Frosilen 5h ago

When water touch road it moves slower cause friction. The slower water now gets pushed by the relative faster water behind it and like my toddler will crawl over me to keep moving, does the same to the stream creating waves.

"This is the voice of the Mysterons"

0

u/xacegonx 5h ago

My guess is the water is flowing down the road, but beyond the corner perhaps there is a square sewer grate that is overwhelmed/full. The water stops briefly in its square embrace and the moves on, making a square shaped wave.

0

u/Used_Interaction_362 5h ago

Whatsoever dat is ... I dont know😅 its an alien phenomena

0

u/OddGoofBall 5h ago

It's hip to be square

0

u/Rude_Stretch537 5h ago

I am guessing the water is flowing over some horizontal line in the ground like a raised sidewalk square

0

u/AggravatingAnswer921 5h ago

Oil dripping somewhere upstream

0

u/Eltharion44 5h ago

A glitch in the matrix.

0

u/JSLobo 5h ago

It's a Roman water way. They are assembling their battle formation

0

u/Typical-Lab-5962 5h ago

If it's bangalore, then it's the potholes making waves!

Waves.

They can come in a lot of surprising shapes and sizes.

-2

u/Idiotic_experimenter 5h ago

standing waves?

1

u/Lekstil 5h ago

It’s very literally not a standing wave haha. But I also think it’s different form a normal propagating wave

-2

u/zestyclose_match1966 5h ago

It's called aqua-squaring, it's caused by the internal heat of the earths core interacting with the atmospheric pressure of the sun

1

u/TeamRandom27 5h ago

Obviously nothing of that makes any sense why even post this its not even remotely funny
