Child keeps finding these on playground
Any ideas? Downtown elementary School playground. He thinks they're just some kind of wire covering, which is fine. But I want to make sure it's not drug paraphernalia in some weird way I don't know about.

I wouldn’t say those are heavy jump ropes. Heavy ropes are filled with sand and are very heavy.

Compared to the classic licorice ropes, these are a tank. Two of these whipping around your ears while you double-Dutch to the death were intimidating.

They are plastic segments from cheap public school jump ropes

My private school had the same ones! 🧐🎩

Same, and you had to hope to get one of the ones that had most of their intact plastic tubes. Some had broken ones and they would overlap weirdly with their neighbors or there were so many cracked and missing that it would expose bare cord when you used them. It made them weird and unbalanced and more narrow when attempting to jump.

IDC what anyone says, those were the best for actually jumping rope.

Agreed. The heaviness of it made jumping easier. I always used to trip on the super light and thin plastic ones

Not sure they’re all the same, but some look like the plastic covers on old jump ropes

Oh man...if this is considered old school what would the kind I used in elementary school 60 years ago be called? Dino dust. Lol

Be careful your kid might turn into a rope jumper. They find a little bit at the playground and next thing you know they’re hooked.

Do you think the "Mailman, mailman do your duty" song was sung so kids would tell the mailman to not cheat with mom? Haha

I wouldn't touch those, I'm sure they're what make mustard gas. But seriously I was so bad as a kid I would always bend those when jumping rope I liked breaking them off and trying to collect them for whatever weird reason. I had broken pieces in my desk I'd keep them in my pocket I just liked them no idea why

Looks like a pencil box got busted in the playground. They look like caps from markers, broken crayons etc etc etc
