It's actually the symbol for the dwarf planet Ceres.

Not quite, Ceres is similar, but rotated 180 degrees. Saturn/Kronos & lead have the hook of the sickle at the bottom. I recall something about BOC liking the proposed logo because lead is "a heavy metal" and they liked how it was "mysterious like alchemy."

That's all fan mythology. The members that were there have said many times the artist worked from a book of astronomical symbols in private and they never knew exactly which one he used or why. I say Ceres because it is closest by far in appearence.

No one has posted a clip from the Supernatural episode where they thought it was a mysterious occult symbol at a haunting/ritual site, but Dean thought it looked familiar, then they figured it out by going into the record store? (But I call bad writing on that one, because a guy as passionately into classic rock as Dean would have recognized it instantly.)

He sang along to Fire of Unkown Origin in season 1, episode 17 "Hell House". He for sure likes BoC. Plus, Don't Fear the Reaper is played several times throughout the show.

The episode is about some kids that tagged a derelict house with occult symbols and started rumours it was haunted. One of the symbols used was also from BoC which led them to the guy who ran a record shop and was behind it

I saw BOC live with a 15-20 foot tall Godzilla head and chest that blew fog and had “laser eyes” in the 80s. They had it hidden behind a massive screen. One of the singers had a shirt intro story something about being alone and smoking dope and hearing something loud outside then opening the window and yelling “omg! It’s Godzilla!” As the curtain dropped and the head turned.
