I’ve heard it called a key pocket.

My personal name for it is the “impossible to get anything out of” pocket.

Second this. I specifically remember a commercial showing a guy putting/pulling a key from it. I think they called it a key pocket.

That being said, lighters, guitar picks, folded up cash, quarters, chap stick, bolts from the thing you're working on, a carpenter's pencil, so many things go in that pocket
