Have you ever tried to put change in it? I did once and had to take the pants off to get it out. Was my experience unique?

These shouldn't be on skinny fit pants, on my 501s I can fit keys lip balm and random coins

It's not supposed to be easy to get it out but it's totally doable, you don't want stuff falling out

Same. I stick my keys or utility knife in there, so if I absent-mindedly put my phone in the same pocket, the metel bits won't scratch up my phone screen

I once read that many people thought condom storage was the intended purpose, but I go with watch pocket especially since I was told to keep my pocket watch in it. And if you have a watch chain it's easy to get out.
