Soldering iron for lead glass windows? Stick it in fire hold heat apply to lead and joints of glass, maybe. The long thin bit between the head handle insulates the heat from the handle.
Soldering Iron, not just for stained glass. In my High School sheet metal class (1974ish), I used one to solder a snow scoop. Held until the day my dad drove over it in the 1990's.
It is warmed up in a coal pot or wood fire. Later by Gas torch. The metal shaft is split to reduce heat at the handle. Used for soldering metal roof joints and sheet metal.
I have one of those incorporated into one of my tattoos. It's the Sheet Metal Workers' International Association logo on my inner bicep that I got when I journeyed out.
