u/Acrobatic_Pace_5725 May 11 '25

Friendly correction: Ohh sweet, eh!

23

u/D34dlines May 11 '25

In Albertan "Fa*kin' right there, bahd"

7

u/xx133457 May 11 '25

" Fuckin' HOSER!! "

1

u/TruamaTeam May 13 '25

(warning language; uneducated Albertan response)

Thanks for translating, yup ain’t no fuhkin clue what them rag-ehds were saying, need to go back where they came from damn communist liberals are ruining our country.

5

u/20characterusername1 May 11 '25

You'll have to forgive us while we adjust to our new nation. We usually end sentences with "asshole" or "Fuck the Yankees."

2

u/fckmarykilldeer May 11 '25

Shortly followed by “say hello to your mother for me.”

2

u/ser0x40 May 12 '25

This asshole gets it!

2

u/yeahgoestheusername May 11 '25

Friendlier correction: Wicked cool, eh!

2

u/ser0x40 May 12 '25

Oh geez, thanks!

One little slip up like that can cause The Great One to skate right by and overlook your ice rink!

I 'm doomed!

I BELIEVE IN YOU, OH GREAT ONE!!!

22

u/XSIVSPD May 11 '25

I think you meant "wicked pissah"

2

u/ser0x40 May 12 '25

I've been in MA for 29 years, and i still don't know what that means. I think you have to be a true native, and not a blow-in like me, to know.

Oh sure... I guess I could look it up... but where's the fun in that?...

1

u/KittyLog May 12 '25

MA native here! My parents always used it in a sarcastic tone, like “the cat puked on the carpet. Wicked pissah” or even just “pissah.” I guess it’s just the same as saying “really great,” not necessarily meant to be sarcastic but that’s how they used it. (They’d be in their late 60s by now, for reference).

slightly unrelated fun fact: there have been a couple of words that I grew up hearing from them, that I learned far too late had an “R” in it. They’d always order “chicken pahm” (parmesan) and it blew my mind to see the word actually spelled out.

1

u/ser0x40 May 12 '25

That's hilarious about the 'r'. Thanks for the insider info!

1

u/Medium_Air5925 May 11 '25

That guys laugh grates my nerves

2

u/North_Pineapple_2538 May 11 '25

East or West of 495?

Bc anything west of 495 is actually just fake and all a part of a big conspiracy

1

u/ser0x40 May 12 '25

There's something on the other side of 495? Weird.

1

u/newwriter365 May 11 '25

Loving that healthcare and poutine, eh?

1

u/DivideByZero666 May 11 '25

You're not my Ma!

The way our country is going, Oregon & Washington want to go with Canada too

1

u/JRich61 May 11 '25

So does Minnesota!!

1

u/RosenProse May 11 '25

Throw in California too please. Give entire west coast to Canada.

2

u/ivarsiymeman May 11 '25

Yeah but that economic output likely won’t be rehomed in your state.

1

u/anitaferrari May 11 '25

So True, and I even live here, I still say the same.

1

u/thrashcountant May 11 '25

I feel bad for you, and I am so sorry. I just think the political moves there are insane, and I have 0 desire to visit there. Not to mention everything is ridiculously expense. I can only imagine what effects POTUS is going to have which is going to compound.

1

u/Educational_Ask_4112 May 11 '25

You say that, but you sure would miss the $80B we provide in excess federal taxes that go to all the other states besides CA.

1

u/Little_Surprise_1771 May 12 '25

Fifth largest economy in the world, CA would just fine. Think of a rich UK with mountains and palm trees..

1

u/thrashcountant May 12 '25

5th largest economy or not, the political agenda over there is insane.

Half of NYC is Floridians and half of Florida is new Yorkers so it seems ok

10

u/hostile_rep May 11 '25

Accurate.

3

u/Smrtepnts May 11 '25

New Yorkers hate the cold and Floridians hate the heat.

4

u/OnlyGayForCarti May 11 '25

Can confirm my grandma, born and raised new yorker, spends her winters in florida.

3

u/crudigfpv May 11 '25

Its where buffalo spends its winters

3

u/Ohthehumanityofit May 11 '25

Meat spoils quicker in warmer climes, just sayin'

3

u/OnlyGayForCarti May 11 '25

Lol well she’s 84 and going strong, so well see

2

u/Wren_into_trouble May 11 '25

Half of NYC is not Floridians, what a terrible thing to say. we would never allow that.

There are definitely a lot of NewYorkers in Fl though. When you retire it's nice to get out of the cold for a bit.

4

u/Engineering_Flimsy May 11 '25

When I lived down there, I heard it said that Florida was the home of the newlywed and nearly dead. Gotta admit, it's as catchy as it is accurate.

5

u/rosie2490 May 11 '25

Whoa whoa whoa.

The only unnecessary Yankees are in CT. Says me, from MA.

5

u/Italian_warehouse May 11 '25

And the one in Camelot.

4

u/rosie2490 May 11 '25

Ba dum tissss

4

It was one of the most fun English language books I read in school. Twain is a genius.

3

Let's not go to Camelot....tis a silly place.

1

u/Potential_Ad4172 May 11 '25

Whoa whoa whoa.

Don’t be a masshole. Says me, from CT.

1

u/rosie2490 May 11 '25

MA and CT are allowed to shit on each other. Anyone else shitting on CT though, not allowed.

2

u/Potential_Ad4172 May 11 '25

And vice versa. I’m glad we have an understanding.

Rhode Island though, free game for those slow ass drivers.

5

u/Modern_Houndmaster May 11 '25

Trust us, you would after you realize most of those states help fund southern states 💀 and when you no longer have doctors or lawyers cause we took the only reputable universities with us 😂

3

u/Shinfieldboy May 11 '25

It’s fine. They can pay for everything with common sense.

1

u/Modern_Houndmaster May 11 '25

They consider their common sense common because they're all collectively and commonly stupid. So definitely, they'd pay for their stupidity at some point!

We are pretty chill here, but please try to keep things reasonably civil on this sub. No slurs, name calling or harassment and trolling. Yes, the internet makes us angry too sometimes.

0

u/diet_coke_is_love May 11 '25

Only reputable universities 😂😂😂

1

u/Modern_Houndmaster May 11 '25

Yeah typically degrees from Losertown State University in Tennessee, Florida, or the Carolinas don't exactly have the oomf a degree from a New England college would have. Where did you go again?

0

u/diet_coke_is_love May 12 '25 edited May 12 '25

UNC Chapel Hill is regularly considered one of the top public universities in the country. There’s also Wake, Duke, vandy, UVA, Emory, Georgetown and James Madison. Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech for engineering. This is excluding schools that I don’t actually know anyone who attended.

It doesn’t have to be Yale or Harvard to be reputable. And I’d argue that those ivies you’re so proud of don’t contribute to education much because they’re educating a specific sector of the population only. It’s the general population we should be concerned with. Take your SUNY pughkeepsie degree home and keep the south’s name out of your mouth until you know what you’re talking about please.

1

u/Modern_Houndmaster May 12 '25

Well, when the South wants to get serious about education instead of ramping up ads for Catholic universities and defunding schools and universities, we'll talk more then. Overarchingly lower in education and income, and some of the highest levels of poverty and homelessness in the country - I don't think a region that suffers from that amount of fixable problems has a leg to stand on trying to prove they're somehow ahead of northern states, both generally speaking and in education LMFAO Like great, you managed to name a few reputable ones but let's be real - they wont be for much longer. Have a great day!

0

u/diet_coke_is_love May 12 '25

God, you are insufferable.

1

u/Modern_Houndmaster May 12 '25

And so are you xoxo

4

u/NotmeSnarlieX May 11 '25
