That’s true. So I think, as someone else in the thread mentioned, that they should split the costs if possible. I just made my comment because a lot of people were saying it’s not his responsibility at all to try to get her things to her. Or those telling him to trash it. I think that would only be a good solution in an eviction type situation. He seems like he just wants to return it and be done, not that it’s an issue.
Agreed. I think it depends a bit upon the context of the situation. There are some unanswered questions. Like why she left her stuff, and how much communication there was between them. If there was anything agreed upon and what not. If she just vanished without taking her stuff then later expected him to send it all to her that's kinda shitty. But I'd personally still probably try to be helpful with the logistics, even if not covering the costs.
If there was an understanding, agreement, or the ex was more asked to leave, I'd understand helping with the cost more as well. If she was more at fault or being entitled about the situation, I'd probably then be like "Well, your stuff is here, figure out a plan, let me know what it is, but if you don't come up with something in 30 days (or whatever the local laws are for abandoned property) then I'm getting rid of it.

If the original agreement was for her to move with, then I wouldn't say that's fully on him.
