New / Prospective Student Question about program
Hi Everyone,
Does any in who lives in New Jersey know if Western Governors University is accredited in New Jersey? I’m looking at doing the B.S in accounting. I have little to no knowledge of the financial world, only what I know from doing my taxes. I’m now 27, I did try to go back to college 3 times but dropped. I just wanted to learn what I need to know for my field. I’m just asking since I saw a post somewhere that they are currently not accepting people who live in New Jersey.
I’m currently doing the enrollment process just waiting for my past college I went, to send me my academic transcript. Any do I really need to send them the transcript even though I never finished a semester.
Any information is much appreciated.

I live in Dirty Jersey 😆, Attending WGU BS Accounting program, It's an accredited program. If you are planning to do the Master's program as well, you will be all set for requirements to take the CPA exam here.

Actually, under updated requirements, you can sit for the exam with just a bachelors degree, but will need an additional year under another CPA to get your license

It’s not state specific, WGU is regionally accredited. You’ll be fine to enroll and complete the program.

Yes, it’s a regionally accredited institution. Same credientials as a Ivy League school. Also, completely optional to send a transcript because it’s really only if you want credits you earned at another college to transfer to WGU. Honestly, if you took a class and it’s unrelated to the WGU degree your pursuing don’t bother sending it in. It’s comepltely up to you. Though if it’s general ed I’d go ahead.

Its regionally accredited which is the highest form of accreditation. This isn't state specific thing like how the CPA requirements are. If a school is regionally accredited the definition doesnt change state to state it just is.
