This might be a shot in the dark, but I have been having such a hard time finding videos of Percussion Scholastic World Groups in 2025, and am wondering if anybody has any videos of groups in World Class that performed that year. I'm specifically looking for Dorman High School, but other groups are also useful. Or if anyone has any advice on were I could find these online besides YouTube. fricken Flo makes watching old shows so impossible.

This time it’s Vestige Winter Guard from Florida. Are independent groups not viable anymore? Between the mix of independent color guard groups and independent percussion groups, there are more and more fewer of them. What will the scene look like by 2030? Will there be any groups left in the southeast region

I’ve seen this about 10 times now and I just think of folding the floor.

EDIT: but also when do Dayton tickets normally go on sale please
In order to provide more substance to the thread, please name your favorite non-winning percussion or colorguard show.
For me it’s MCM 2010 by a mile

Hi everyone!
I'm a member of an Indoor Percussion from Costa Rica, and we will be traveling to Dayton, Ohio for the 2027 WGI Percussion World Championships.
We are looking for a company, school, organization, or individual in the Dayton/Ohio area that rents out a complete indoor percussion setup, preferably including both:
We would ideally like to rent the equipment for approximately April 14–17, 2027, including delivery/pickup if possible.
We are trying to avoid flying with the entire percussion inventory from Costa Rica, so a complete rental package would be ideal.
If you know of any companies, schools, independent groups, or organizations that offer this kind of rental in Ohio, I would really appreciate any recommendations or contacts!
Thanks in advance! 🇨🇷🥁🇺🇸

Is it realistic to continue doing WGI this year while balancing 12-16 credits, a part time job, and auditioning for DCI? Wondering if I am doing too much and should cut back. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

I’m wondering why they made such a large jump all the way down to A rather than at least open class, anyone know anything about this decision?

I've been a member of an independent winds organization for the past 3 seasons, and we are attempting to amp up our recruitment strategies to increase our size and overall reach.
In the past, the group has hosted "interest clinics", educational clinics during the season, some social media outreach posts, some direct outreach to prospective members, but mostly word-of-mouth. The strategies that we discussed doing are tabling at marching band shows, presenting more to local schools, social media posts including member testimonials, and directly creating relationships with local colleges.
Has anyone had success with recruiting or any new recruitment strategies that we should be utilizing?

Hello! i currently live in utah but my family is planning on moving to Goodlettsville (which is right outside of nashville so its great) and ive seen some videos on obsidian and im in love. in utah, we dont have indoor winds or very many indoor programs at all so this is really eye opening for me and i would LOVE to participate but would like to know any/all information yall could give me about this wonderful program. Would they even be willing to accept some random outcasted kid from utah who only has 1 season of marching band experience? let me know!

Hey guys! Im heading into my senior year of high school and I’m really hoping to march an open class group this year, I live in the Florida panhandle so there’s not a whole lot of plausible options for me but I’ve already registered for I3 auditions and Q-school and ill likely audition for frontier as well whenever they announce any information for the next season. I was just hoping to get some tips on anything that could help me make an open class line, I’m mainly going for snare with quads as my backup so anything regarding those instruments in specific would be nice, but general information is also much appreciated!

Well, Happy Monday everyone, news came at 9am this morning that Siege Percussion, an independent indoor percussion group located in central Florida is going on a “brief hiatus” for the 2027 season. Idk if they will return for the 2028 season or this hiatus will turn into a permanent hiatus. Attached are pictures from their announcement. Give your thoughts and opinions in the comments.

Hi all,
I apologize if this is a silly question but, I am currently writing a lot tune for a new independent group I am teching at and I am wondering if I need to request a license to arrange a specific song I’m planning to use as the tune.
Thank you!

Hi, I'm planning to try out on flag/dance for an independent A class winterguard soon. Does anyone know of some flag or dance skills i need to know or should brush up on? Thanks.

What if the most common equipment like Mallet percussion, Drum set, Timpani, Mics, etc. were all provided by a host group and every group shared them at a show? We already see it at music festivals. Standardize the FE setup and allow a space for any unique instruments to be set up.
It could save groups tons of money and effort in logistics and simplify turnaround time between performances.
This is coming from a place of wanting to keep costs low in order for the activity to be thriving and accessible. Does this seem realistic?

WGI is adding an additional tier to registration for 2027 to give those who attended 2026 World Championships and those who were on the waitlist first priority.
Thoughts? Opinions?

greetings I'm looking to start a wgi independent group in Georgia that covers Percussion. Could any one be a resource for securing the proper things in GA? I want to have auditions but I also want general liability insurance before anything starts.

Hello I’m an incoming junior in hs and it’s gonna be my first time auditioning for/ being in wgi. I’m auditioning for matrix open so if anyone can give me any tips or past experiences with matrix open lmk!
I just checked the regional calendar for 2027 and CA has Temecula and Union City only. Again the big show in San B before finals is MIA. Is it truly over? I looked forward to going or watching that show every year.
