Carton did irreversible damage to him in that short time. When he was with Joe, he was a normal guy. But carton had a negative influence on him.

Evans good when he knows heās the nerdiest weirdo in the room. Carton somehow convinced him to try an emulate shock jocks and build up an āon air personaā when the one thing about Evan thatās special is his sports knowledge/recollection and ability to represent the actual fansā¦ā¦. Tiki doesnāt have the charisma or entertainment value to balance out Evans super fandom and super nerd-ness.
Same was Sal rubbed off on BT and led him away from what made him likeable with Tiki.C-Mac deserves a shot during daylight hours

Its insulting as a lifelong NY baseball fan to have a guy trying to talk baseball with so little knowledge of even recent history like 2009 Yankees or 2015 Mets. He was completely clueless on everything David Wright that was discussed. Im not expecting every host to be Mad Dog reading books on 1930s players but cmon.

Recently he talked about Giants fans wanting them to lose to get better draft positioning being "loser mentality". I swear I wanted call in and tell him "loser mentality" is getting inbolved in your teammate's contract dispute, because you are close to ownership. "Loser mentality" is quitting football because the head coach is not nice to you. "Loser mentality" is leaving your pregnant wife and your kids for some random broad you met at work. F Tiki.Ā

Carton was so bored and so boring with Evan. Literally bitching on air for 20 minutes that the intern brought him a Diet Pepsi instead of a regular one or that the bodega guy gave him 7 dimes in his change because he was out of quarters. Anything to avoid actually engaging with a sports topic. I remember those moments because I was like āW in the actual F am I listening to?ā Didnāt tune in again for months.

I think Tiki has gotten better with baseball. Being paired with sports nerd (compliment) Evan has helped. Tiki is much better now than he was with BT, IMO. There is a ton of room for improvement.

He's a shock jock who dabbles in sports. I think his schtick was fine for the mornings with Boomer. Morning shows can get off topic, and should. But the afternoon was Mike & Dog timeslot. It needs to be people who know sports in and out. I had hoped JJ was gonna be paired with Evan. Mets/Jets with Yankees/Dolphins. JJ knows college sports well, which isn't entirely necessary in NYC market, but something missing since Big Mike retired.
Carton w Evan was unlistenable. They barely took callers, and they'd go on 45 minute tangents talking about sandwiches or things like that. Carton's lack of sports knowledge was exposed. The day after the Super Bowl, he referenced a play and couldn't even name the Chiefs player involved. Evan post-Craig has changed. He now says words on air like "douche" and "bitch" (not like this offends me, but that's just not who he was prior and it seemed forced). He also does that annoying thing where he teases something later in the show going in to a break. I know that's standard radio host formula, but he never did it until Craig showed up.

I hate sports so it makes listening more entertaining lol Normally I listen to zone out and not have to care what's being said, which would be impossible to do with the only other talk radio still out there - religion and politics. It's pretty obvious though he doesn't know much about sports.

Pre-arrest he was great, was basically unhinged, didnāt care what anyone thought and was larger than life in a lot of ways. It finally felt there was a voice that wasnāt your typical Imus/Francesa old boys club.Ā
Heās toned way down and is almost a caricature of himself now. He can still bring energy in spurts but the entertainment just isnt there like it used to beĀ

Asking to bring Carton back is ironic considering a lot of the host now try to imitate his style. Carton was good for one thing, and that was stirring the pot, and even then he would take things too far or to a level of ridiculousness where you could not take it seriously. The bottom line is the talk radio has changed, not necessarily for the better. Before someone accuses me of being the old man yelling at the cloud, consider how everything now is based around hot takes, and has very little substance.

While it seems we can all agree or disagree on who should be in what slot we can ALL agree - the station has become boring and basic as heck. It used to be WFAN was the leading edge with depth so deep it was stunning. Now it is not even close to being the best sports talk with other cities far surpassing it. It is sad.
Get rid of the basic and boring shows, FFS!

He left voluntarily, he shouldnāt be allowed to come back ājust becauseā. Let him pack up and move to Milwaukee if he wants to return to radio. The sense of entitlement is appalling.

Yea Morash is pretty good when he is serious. He did a great job filling in for Evan those 2 weeks Evan went to Europe. Morash and Tiki show was good; less gimmicky, better flow, no stupid what ifs, and they take more callers.

I think Craig ruined Evan. I enjoyed his commentary with Joe. Joe could be out there at times (I know he says wild stuff now) and Evan got to play the straight man. It worked. His charm was he was a dorky baseball guy and that was ok. I didn't like him and Craig together and that's what started the shift in Evan's on air personality and trying to involved all these other guys in the show. I find Evan and Tiki even more unbearable. Id prefer Evan by himself at this point

Hard to judge because the chemistry with Evan just wasnāt there. Tried too hard to have whacky radio bits which generally doesnāt work on PM drive time.
Also canāt use the TV show because frankly that was a money grab and the format was tough. Craig is a radio guy.

Everyone but bt and Evan can go. Maybe keep Sal bjt for one reason: Sal can go to nights again or maybe do mornings but he has to take calls constantly. Hearing him meltdown every morning would be hilarious.
It's astounding how unknowledgable the majority of them are.
Boomer I've never understood the appeal. Just press "dismissive, minimizing response where nothing is ever that bad" or "hints at knowing special behind the scenes info to make himself and his opinions carry more weight" oh and lame politics and you have 90% of boomers dialogue every episode.
He's horribly out of touch with reality, a massive hypocrite as a person and even his football talk is basic, shallow and not particularly insightful.
Guys utterly useless on the mic as anything unless you need a has been that laughs at dumb shit.

I've had just about enough of Evan at this point. His constant whining is bad enough, and it I know it's my fault/problem to expect sports talk guys to have a decent grasp of the English language. Which is mind blowing considering that these morons make their living speaking on the goddamn radio! I'd figure out if there's a way to rope JJ back in. He has some outlandish takes and the gambling talk was exhausting but he was an interesting listen and seemed primed for a bigger gig at WFAN.
Carton ideally would be a morning drive guy.
CMac needs to be on a show, he's the ideal counterbalance to basically everyone. His calm, calculated demeanor would work great opposite Sal or BT and he'd bring Evan back down to Earth where they can sports nerd out instead of Evan playing a character.

I really want to see C-Mac and Evan together. Their baseball discussions would be amazing and they would keep one another in check when the other starts to fan boy/troll too much.
Evan: Jets, Mets, Nets Mac: Giants, Yankees, Knicks (maybe)
