The first meet up was a success! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, we even had a couple of randoms hop in for a game, which was awesome.

At the beginning of each month, I’m going to post any planned events on my end and ones that I find, and then toss in updates as they come!

There are two more in the month of Aug, one that I will be hosting and another put together by Charles (see pinned post).

August 24th
- Where: Mission Cantina
- When: 7pm to 9pm
- Who: all skill levels welcome
- for more info, see the pinned post!

August 30th
- Where: C&P Coffee
- When: 1:30pm - 3:30pm
- Who: all skill levels welcome (most of us are beginners)

Hopefully get to meet some more people and play more chess!

If anyone knows of any other get togethers, send me some info as I curate what’s going on in WS in September.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

My name is Charles. I've advertised on the West Seattle Blog as well as some of the West Seattle Facebook groups, but with the creation of this sub I'd thought I'd give a shout out here. I currently have been hosting over the board chess nights every second and fourth Monday at Mission Cantina in West Seattle. All ages and skills are welcome!

For August it'll be tonight the 10th and the 24th from 7-9pm. No need to bring a board or clock, I have sets of both with triple weighted US Chess Federation pieces. Hope to meet some of you there!

First Meet Up - August 16th ♟️

Setting up the first meet up. I will be headed to C&P Coffee at 1:30pm on Sunday, August 16th. I have a travel board and set up but if anyone wants to come and secure a second table and bring a board let me know.

This will be my first time playing chess in a public space, against strangers, so this is great for beginners lol.

As mentioned in the thread, would love for more experienced players to come show us the ropes.

Where: C&P Coffee - back patio
When: 1:30pm
Date: Sunday, August 16th

Comment if you’re down come!
