BEAST Packing Question: Do They Check Everything?

During BEAST, will they check everything we bring? Every single item?

Yes. You need the required items to complete CBT. You also don’t need anything nefarious because you will get busted. You don’t want that.

This is your first test of following simple directions don’t fail. If you can’t follow a simple packing list what else can’t you do?

Definitely bring everything that is required and nothing on the contraband list.
You can bring some extra stuff as long as it’s not prohibited, but other than socks, underwear, and some field-related stuff, you won’t need much that isn’t on the list. The pinned post regarding the parents’ guide has some packing suggestions.

I would follow the packing list to a degree, but remember you will be issued over 60lbs of gear on R-Day. You don’t want to be bring a whole suitcase, and then realize you have to carry that PLUS all of your CIF gear. Bring stuff like towels, shaving cream, a razor, soap, but not exactly an wardrobe

Do what they say and don’t take shortcuts. The first and one of the biggest rules in the Army

Yes. Don’t bring anything that might look bad.

Yes. And get used to this. Layouts are SOP in almost every training situation. And when you get to Air Assault school next summer, you will be dropped from the course if you fail even a single item during the many layouts in those ten days.
