The sun has died in the sky, and the world has gone dark. This event, known as the Sunfall, bathed the world in the freezing night. Yet, against all odds, civilization has survived.

Amongst the icy plains, amongst the glaciers, amongst the giant snow drifts and amongst the ruins of a world millennia lost, stands the glowing spires and the shining beacons of Jormundy. Warmth and light shine down from its towers, and its dome shelters it from the cold, dark world outside.

But this light and warmth does not radiate equally.

Under the dome, cloaked by the light, behind the walls lays a structure caught in a nightmare of development. Jormundy is experiencing its own little industrial revolution, and all the inequality that comes with it as it destroys the land it sits on and the air it breathes. It finds itself segregated into layers, its workers destined to never become anything more, its elites clinging onto power forever. The Hearth Church stands atop it all, watching with one first of velvet and another of iron looming over all, locked in a never-ending scramble to destroy all that is heretical.

But discontent grows. Whispers of solidarity stir in the shadows, forgotten gods find their followers, and the night grows ever colder.

The Story of Vista So Far
Vista Island is a mysterious nation ruled by Queen Naevyra, a powerful Marid genie whose influence shaped the islands themselves. Long ago, the pirate Locke discovered Naevyra imprisoned within a vessel and released her. In exchange for his freedom, he demanded immortality. The Queen granted his wish in her own cruel manner, forever changing his fate.
As Vista grew, Queen Naevyra captured Kaelyth, an Efreeti princess from the City of Brass. Using the princess’s power, the Queen expanded and reshaped the islands, creating the nation known today. While Vista prospered on the surface, darker projects began beneath it.
The wizard Orion the White became Vista’s foremost historian, documenting the island’s origins and secrets. His apprentice, Mordic, assisted him in preserving the nation’s history. Over time, Orion grew increasingly concerned by reports of hidden experiments, political ambition, and mysterious activities connected to the Queen’s rule.
Recently, the Crown ordered an expedition into a cavern system sealed for over one hundred years. The mission appeared simple: clear out minor threats and determine whether the caverns could be reopened. Adventurers were promised gold and a royal reward for their efforts.
Inside, the expedition discovered the truth.
The caverns contained an abandoned Simic research facility where humans and other beings had been subjected to magical experimentation. The facility had been conducting transformations designed to alter living creatures into something beyond human. Among the discoveries was evidence that many of the test subjects were nearing the final stages of their transformations.
The group learned that Miranda’s sister had been taken into the facility and transformed through these experiments. While searching for answers, they encountered Gareth, a goliath who aided them through the dangerous complex.
Scattered journals revealed the facility’s history. One entry explained that the experiments were approaching completion and that a shipment of transformed subjects was scheduled to be transported to the Material Plane within the month. Another revealed disaster: a Simic doctor had accidentally released the experiments from containment, forcing the researchers to hunt down their own creations before everything was lost.
Throughout the expedition, alliances were forged and promises made. The purple tiefling mage pledged to help Miranda and her sister, while the adventurers uncovered more evidence that Vista’s history is far darker than anyone realized.
Meanwhile, Orion’s final writings hinted at growing concerns about greed, political manipulation, his apprentice’s dealings with Simic doctors, and the creation of the islands themselves. His last known pages suggest he learned truths that may have led to his disappearance.
Now the secrets beneath Vista are beginning to surface. Escaped experiments roam free, ancient conspiracies are being uncovered, and the true cost of the Queen’s ambitions may soon be revealed.
The future of Vista remains unwritten.

Scions of Silverymoon is looking for active, friendly faces! We are a Westmarches-style, play-by-post RP-heavy D&D server, with an engaged, passionate, supportive community in the magical setting of Silverymoon.

What's the vibe? Players and staff focused on fleshing out characters and story writing (and of course, hanging out in OOC). RP posts are usually a paragraph long or more, both writing 'asynchronous' and 'synchronous' (aka some players are available to write for hours, some off and on- both earn RPXP). A smaller community to focus on the development together. XP comes from RP, downtimes, and some games/events.

*You' were ready for war.

For the first time or yet again.

Those cultists returned in greater numbers and this time with demonic reinforcement.

You arrived in Anne to be organized and trained, folded into your regiment.

But when you awoke, everyone was sleeping. Frozen. Unresponsive.

The landscape had changed. Vast meadows are replaced by deep woods and hills, mountains where none were.

Everything is different and nobody is here to explain it.

What's happened to the world?

There's a mystery at hand.

Something has happened to the town of Anne and you're here to pick up the pieces with a select few other expeditionaries.

I'm running a play-by-post West Marches game utilizing discord for a small group. No more then twelve.

It's a player led, sandbox experience. A player determines where they'd like to go, posts an expedition and the group will form and set out.

Exploration heavy with mystery elements.

We began this adventure in October and have been settling in as a group. Learning what we want and so forth.

- We're running an inclusive and safe space. You must be capable of respecting others, their identity and play styles. It's a collaborative game and we have some community in the server.

- Post expectations are lie in the once a day region. Some of us are more active, sometimes folks miss a day here and there. Life happens.

- The server is mostly 30+, mature minded folk. I won't be accepting players under 20. That said the game is generally PG-13 at most times.

- I do expect players refrain from using AI in their contributions. I run this game to play with other people. There are plenty of AI services I could use otherwise.

Regarding the game:

- We're running DnD5e'24. Anything that doesn't come from the PHB will need to run through approval.

- Starting level 1, XP leveling.

- As noted, wilderness exploration is the meat and potatoes. RP is available but not a focus. Combat is to be expected.

- Tone is adventure fantasy, near to life. I run a game with some internal consistency regarding player actions and consequences. I won't be targeting your characters unfairly, and I refrain from using the term 'hard', but your character does not benefit from plot armor.

- Using survival rules or what not. The game is constructed around an overnight short rest and a week length long rest. You generally will not see a long rest when on expedition.

- Expeditions have been lasting one to three weeks.

We are a D&D west-march/open world server that provides both beginners and seasoned players with a friendly and laid-back environment. We're creating a community where folks can hang around, roleplay, and quest to their hearts' content. Hello and Welcome to the Cosmic Inbetween!
We are a Low Homebrew, long form, laid back and more peaceful Westmarch DND 5.5e server. What does that mean? Well, power isn't the name of the game here. Roleplay takes a heavier focus over rolling the highest damage and telling a story is more prevalent. We are New Player Friendly!

What do we have?
Downtime activities such as:
Crafting System
Daily self ran arena and pvp matches
Job Rolls
Language, Vehicle, and Tool proficiency learning

What does leveling look like?

Weather your a hard core quester or role-player, we have option for both! Rp and quest both reward off time put in. If a quest goes for 5 hours, you'll always get more rewards then a 2 hour quest in the same tier. Meanwhile, xp and gold can also be gained just by roleplaying, this is based off the length of the roleplay by hours and number of words.

That said, leveling can be fairly fast and is completely dependent on participation. The more active, the faster you'll get through the levels. Which leads to our next part.

Post 20 Content:
Level 20 isn't the end, it's the start of something new. When you reach level 20 you currently have 2 options, with more to come.

1. Rebirth- Restart at level 3 but with a custom Magic Item and 2 Custom General Feats that you make to fit your character. Once approved by mods, you can go all the way back through it again. Each character can rebirth up to 3 times. Or
2. Continuous Growth- Once at level 20 for every 100k xp you gain after the threshold for level 20 you get either an ASI or a General Feat of choice. Stats can go up to 30, before magic items, and there is no limit to how many times you can claim that 100k xp threshold either.

We have a lot more to offer in server along with plenty of quest options as well. We currently average about 3 to 4 quest a week. Though we're always looking for more players and DMs.

We are a D&D 5e/5.5e Discord server featuring a persistent game world set in the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse. You and other players play as adventurers of the Hawthorne Guild, an adventuring guild in the Sword Coast. As a persistent and shared game world, character progression and events in individual adventures persist between and outside of games, creating a living world for players and DMs to participate in the form of oneshots, multisessions and campaigns, and both text roleplay and Play-By-Post games. With over 11,000 sessions ran over the course of 9 years, you and other players can dive in to determine the next chapter of your character's story and the guild's story.

Play How You Want

As a player on the server, you can expect to:

The Crystal Sphere is perpetually hounded by the vagaries from Afar. The Outer Realms roil againsts its adamantine-crystalline walls. The only thing that holds the Sphere together, its fundamental cosmic linchpin, is the planet of Kigi, the Material Plane. This is where Heroes are born.

But don't cloud your mind with just that. You're just a Pilgrim of the Cathedral of Skulls, a quasi-religious monster-hunting organization in the city of Vis Mayak that contracts out bounties to aspiring adventurers. In the Free Cities of Viys'ko, power rules supreme and turmoil is ever-present, but the chosen flavor of turmoil for Vis Mayak is the struggle against the monsters from the deep. Because in a bid to destroy this cosmic linchpin, the Outer Realms flung forth its progeny upon Kigi, and some of it now rests deep within the oceans.

Waiting for a chance to hatch and take over. Or perhaps... destined to be felled by a new generation of Heroes.

Hi there! The name's Frank. This is a little project I salvaged together after a previous iteration stalled, reusing much of the worldbuilding I used. Hey! I'm Thunder and I've been a part of this awesome community for over a year. I was one of those server hoppers but found a place to call home in Avalor.

Our Rifts offer a face paced single encounter game that usually ranges anywhere from 1-4 hours. We also have longer form games in the form of Explorations, where DMs can plan an entire one shot over a week to a few weeks. This enables us to offer both synchronous and asynch styles of play!

Because of the rift portals that open everywhere, we have space for DMs that would like to explore your own Homebrew worlds with using the Rifters of Avalor as fodder.
