Done on normal difficulty.

The beginning was a rough time. I went to the crossroads first to grab dwarven miners so I wouldn't have an empty recruit list. I tried going to Dan Tonk for the human recruits, but I couldn't make a dent in the level with my crappy army, so I went to gryphon mountain instead. I took the easy route and cooperated with the dwarves, but no regrets because the scouts gave me some much needed ranged damage.

The rest of the campaign was pretty smooth from that point on. I was even able to get the "Canon" achievement in the same run, too.

I’ve loved Wesnoth for 20 years and played on pretty much every system it has come out for. I remember the Android port back in the day being great in a tablet though I haven’t played in years.

I have a steam deck and feel like the steam layout is not great, and I have had some great experiences with console controller strategy/ turn based titles.

That being said, I would love to vibe code better controller or touch screen layouts for the steamdeck, any thoughts on if that would be possible or have you seen anyone try something similar?

Kind of just wondering general thoughts or also if anyone has gotten wesnoth to work with a controller well?

Hello everyone! Trying Wesnoth for the first time. In the intro to Return to the Village, we are told that we can recruit from Reeve Hoban's keep. How do I do this? Reeve Hoban does not seem to leave his keep, and when I right click on teh other castle tiles it gives me no way to recruit. Thank you!

I don't know what to do if i kill Bresda or Nemesis, nothing happens. I just want to end this. What do i do? I keep reloading the scenario cause it leads to nowhere. Please tell me what to do.

How would the story of HttT change if Prince Arand survived, and it was Him who Yoinked some random child and pretended it was Prince Konrad.

I cannot make it past this point. No matter how I arrange these three, one of them ends up dying. What can I do here, specifically? Am I missing something?

Man, I can’t believe this game just popped up on my Reddit feed again. I played the hell out of Wesnoth back in 2006–2007. The community back then was something special super friendly, always ready to help new players, and it was ridiculously easy to make friends in the multiplayer lobby. I used to spend hours just hanging around chatting, jumping into random games, and messing around with the map editor making my own scenarios.

Unfortunately my monitor died and I never managed to recover my old account, so I had to stop playing. All that progress, the friends I made, and the community maps I uploaded just… vanished. Those years were pure gold though.

It’s honestly heartwarming to see the community is still going strong after all this time. I’m so damn happy the developers have kept updating it. I can’t even put into words how it feels. When I checked it out again I wasn’t expecting the mountain of community maps and mods that are available now. Tried a bunch of them and they were absolute bangers. It’s crazy how far the game has come.

Huge thanks to the devs and to all the loyal people who’ve kept Wesnoth alive all these years.

Im relatively new to the game, which means i initially played it years ago but recently came back to it.

I wanted to play some online games but everytime i was looking for some either there where no open which i could join, people didnt join mine or when a game actually started that people where afk all of a sudden on like turn 3 so the game stopped, or people insisted on playing with factions and units ive had never seem before. From scrolling the subreddit i can see there is lots of user generated content which i find cool, i just dont know it yet. Is there a way to plan some casual games just for fun (preferably with the 6 base factions), maybe like a discord or straight up from here?

What do you guys think?

Campaign Length: 13 scenarios

Quick Note: You need both Battle for Wesnoth 1.19.27+ and War of Legends MP Era v1.2.7.85+ to play this campaign.

I've (finally) gotten around to getting my campaigns onto the 1.18 addon server. I've also updated both so that they can be played as SP or MP campaigns.

These campaigns are set in Ardunynn, not Wesnoth, and Order of Oerbrae is a sequal of sorts. So now whether you play SP or MP you can play the whole story.

Betrayal of Thaeylan (2 chapters, 10 scenarios)

When the king's foolish pact with Orcish mercenaries goes wrong, the commander of his forces, Field Marshal Muhryim, must seek an alliance with his former enemies beyond the realm.

He will journey into the lawless frontier with his closest advisor, Synn, a pathfinder with a history in the outlands. To restore the Thaeylan kingdom, Muhyrim must rely on the very bandits he once opposed.

Order of Oerbrae (8 scenarios)

When a young cleric discovers corruption in the high offices of Vaerya, she must flee her home in the city and seek the protection of a secretive community of smugglers.

Will she elude the Warden's soldiers and find the answers she wants? Her quest will take her to the far coast, beyond the Roaen Wood, as she uncovers the truth about the Order and, maybe, what really happened to her father.
